What you’ll do
As Nordic Franchise Lead Hematology you are a key player in the Oncology Business Unit, one of AstraZeneca’s key growth platforms. You will act as a core member of the Business Unit management team, contributing to strategic direction and driving performance across the Nordics.
You will play a critical role in shaping and influencing Global and European strategies to reflect Nordic market needs, while ensuring strong execution of the regional strategy. You will lead and coordinate the Launch and Brand Planning process, including the localization of the Global portfolio strategy into impactful Nordic brand plans.
In this role, you will lead the development of the Hematology portfolio strategy and Nordic operating plan, ensuring clear positioning, robust planning, and effective implementation across markets. You will be responsible for prioritizing investments and resources across the Nordic cluster to maximize business impact, while contributing to the overall financial performance through strong forecasting, budget management, and delivery on P&L objectives.
You will also contribute to defining and implementing optimal access strategies for new molecular entities and new indications within the Hematology franchise. A key aspect of the role is building and maintaining strong partnerships with national and international Key External Experts (KEEs) to inform strategy, strengthen scientific leadership, and support successful execution. You will lead the cross-functional Nordic Franchise Team, fostering collaboration, alignment, and high performance across markets and functions, while ensuring a continuous focus on excellence, innovation, and driving practice change at scale.
The role includes
- Leading, coaching, and supporting the Nordic Franchise team, ensuring clear prioritization and effective delegation of responsibilities
- Driving business performance through strong leadership of daily operations, in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Shaping and executing a robust franchise strategy, including positioning, development, implementation, and execution in alignment with cross-functional teams
- Leading the development and execution of the marketing mix (including digital and omnichannel strategies), translating high-level strategy into impactful local plans
- Driving and executing the brand operational plan and ensuring delivery of brand KPIs through close collaboration with cross-functional partners
- Leading campaign development and ensuring alignment of key messages across Nordic markets
- Prioritizing investments and resource allocation across the Nordic cluster to maximize return and strategic impact
- Acting as a key contributor to forecasting processes, providing input on assumptions, market insights, and trends, while ensuring effective budget management and delivery on financial targets
- Ensuring that sales forecasts are met and operational budgets are managed in line with business objectives
- Engaging and collaborating with national and international KEEs to shape strategy and reinforce AstraZeneca’s scientific leadership in Hematology
- Contributing to the development of access strategies for new molecular entities and indications, in close collaboration with Market Access and Medical teams
- Contributing to marketing execution, including value proposition development, campaign creation, and coordination with key roles and external agencies
- Co-leading external communication partners such as PR agencies
- Coordinating Nordic Brand and Campaign trainings
- Driving the development of strong value propositions and value stories
- Ensuring continuous focus on excellence, innovation, and operational simplification
- Line management, coaching, and development of Marketing Managers, Field Marketing Managers and Scientific Account Managers, while also enabling capability building across the broader organization
- Being accountable for developing the team’s scientific knowledge, selling skills, and business acumen, in collaboration with cross-functional teams and relevant capability-building functions
- Providing coaching and training to direct reports and key stakeholders to optimize performance and ensure effective strategic account planning
- Ensuring organizational effectiveness by fostering Nordic alignment, best practice sharing, and a culture of continuous learning
- Ensuring all activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards across Nordic countries
In order to succeed, essential requirements are
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, e.g. in Marketing, Finance, Science or Pharmacy
- Proven experience in leading senior team members, with a strong balance of business and people leadership
- 5+ years of pharma marketing and/or pharma sales experience, preferably within Hematology
- Strong understanding of Nordic healthcare systems, market dynamics, and ethical frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize resources and investments to drive business performance
- Experience in financial planning, forecasting, and budget management
- Experience in engaging with external stakeholders, including KEEs, to shape strategy and execution
- Solid understanding of market access dynamics and experience contributing to access strategies is an advantage
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – fluent in English and at least one Nordic language
- Strong strategic thinking combined with execution excellence
- High level of people development and leadership capabilities

- MBA or equivalent
