Accountabilities
As the Marketing Director, Scientific Comms Strategy, you will be at the forefront of shaping and executing brand strategies for AstraZeneca’s Immunology portfolio. Your role will involve driving strategic engagement with the scientific community and enhancing AstraZeneca’s leadership in Immunology. Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Director, you will lead Scientific Communications, develop External Scientific Experts (ESE) content and recruitment strategies, and create educational content for healthcare professionals (HCPs) across Rheumatology and future Immunology assets. Collaborating with a matrixed team, you will work closely with RCD customer-facing teams, HCP & Consumer Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Global teams, and Corporate Affairs. With a focus on brand management and scientific advocacy, you will advance our brand strategy and maintain relationships with ESEs to inform commercial strategies and strengthen our presence in Rheumatology, Dermatology, Nephrology, and Pulmonology.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Experience in multiple commercial functions (Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs)
- Prior success in pre-launch / launch brand strategy and cross-functional execution
- Willingness to travel (approx. 35%)
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Prior Immunology and/or multi-indication launch experience
- Established relationships with Rheumatologists strongly preferred
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $ 180,875.20 - 271,312.80 USD. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
