In this role, you will join the Capability Transformation Team and report to the Head of Capability Transformation. Close collaboration with the Medical Leaders and Field Medical is important to ensure alignment of needs and priorities.
The role
The Medical L&D Excellence Manager is working with capability building and coaching above therapeutic areas across the Nordic Medical department. This means that you will serve as a link between the global Medical Excellence organization and the Nordic Marketing Company. The responsibility involves implementing global Medical L&D Excellence results in line with Nordic needs and as agreed with the Medical Leadership team.
Participation is possible on an ad-hoc basis in local cross-functional teams, the Therapeutic Area/Franchise Leadership Team, and the Medical-Regulatory Leadership Team. Medical objectives and measures will be established. Strategic objectives and critical metrics will be communicated by you and your management to collaborators, customers, partners, and team members to ensure alignment.
This position is office-based and located in Sweden.
What you will do
This role primarily focusses on building new and strengthening existing medical capabilities but will also be responsible for supporting building/strengthening other relevant capabilities where needed (new ways of working, coaching etc).
- Analyse and prioritize competence development / training needs of medical personnel together with Medical Leaders & Field Medical
- Identify, arrange, and coordinate Medical trainings
- Develop training programs and materials, methods, and tools together with internal and external partners
- Maintain a real time training calendar for continuous training for customer facing personnel
- Complete training programs in collaboration with partners across all Nordic countries.
- Set up appropriate evaluations of trainings
- Identifies leading practices within and outside AstraZeneca to implement effective competence development programs
- Coordinate training programs for new hires
- Build and maintain a system to track training and development
- Assures tasks are of accurate quality and in accordance with written procedures and current external legal requirements and internal standards
- Collaborate closely with Medical Leadership team to ensure need based trainings and initiatives
- Demonstrate AZ values, ethics, and compliance within all business practices, in alignment with the AZ Governance Framework, internal standards and policies, and external regulations.
What we need from you
Essential experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in life sciences or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry preferably in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development
- Excellent understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, health care systems, and payer structures in the Nordic countries
- Significant experience with coaching medical/scientific personnel
- Confirmed expertise in discussing scientific content and context to a variety of audiences
- Shown project management and presentation skills
- Experienced working on cross-functional teams
- Pro-active approach to connect with impact and engage with external stakeholders (e.g. HCPs)
- Demonstrates relationships with key global, regional, and local decision makers to achieve organizational objectives
- Ability to develop Strategic Partnerships
- Ability to travel and driver’s license required
- Excellent knowledge in English language and proficient in at least one of the Nordic languages
