Alexion China-Asia Pricing & Access Lead

As part of the Alexion Bold Ambition for 2030, China and Asia are expected to be key growth drivers and enablers to the Alexion 2030 ambition. The markets in scope include China's large market potential, established and growing North-East Asia rare diseases markets (Korea-Taiwan), as well as emerging ASEAN and South Asia markets. The Alexion China-Asia Pricing & Access Lead will play a strategic role in unlocking access solutions and executing global value, access, and price strategies for the Alexion portfolio to ensure business sustainability.

Accountabilities

Based in Singapore, the China-Asia Pricing & Access Lead will work closely with Alexion Markets Expansion Area Commercial Director Asia, the AZ China market access and corporate affairs team, the Asia area medical director, as well as Global GVAP (Global Value Access & Pricing) teams, AZ region-countries corporate affairs, and other Alexion support functions. The role involves providing pricing and market access support to the countries' Rare Diseases market access teams through various activities including strategic alignment, development and execution of pricing strategies, support in reimbursement negotiations, and driving market access readiness planning for new products.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Proven market access experience working with Asia-China markets in constructing & implementing access & pricing strategies, new products market access readiness strategies with confirmed examples of success

  • Understanding of the access and policy environment for rare diseases and/or specialized medicines in the main markets (China-Asia)

  • Preferably region and/or country market expertise/experience in China-Asia region and key countries within the region

  • Experience of new product launches market access preparation in specialized medicines or rare diseases in the region

  • Prior rare disease or specialized drugs therapy area expertise

  • Relevant drug development and/or commercialization experience within the pharmaceutical/medical industry

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Ability to build and mobilize positive relationships and effectively collaborate internally with global GVAP Teams and externally with payers and other access stakeholders
  • Excellent track record of managing or working in cross-functional teams, being able to drive team members towards a shared goal
  • In-country and/or above-country market access expertise/experience
  • Highly autonomous and an effective communicator with cultural sensitivity and engagement skills across the diversity of Asia markets in scope
  • Strategic planning capabilities & ability to deal with complexity (countries, portfolio, diseases)
  • Master’s Degree or higher education including strong scientific background
  • Fluency in English
