Maintenance Planning Analyst
The AstraZeneca Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets and capsules for over 60+ markets. The Mt Vernon site is complex, the largest AZ production site in the US with over 700+ employees. We are located in the southwest corner of the state of Indiana, approximately 15 miles from Evansville, Indiana – the third largest city in the state. The Mt. The Maintenance Planning Analyst develops detailed work plans and schedules, conducts project scoping as required, and manages material acquisition for internal and external maintenance activities to ensure effective and efficient execution of maintenance work. This role is responsible for retaining maintenance technical documents, including retrieval, filing, and archiving of preventive and corrective maintenance work orders. The analyst ensures compliance with AstraZeneca standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and records retention schedules. Additionally, the role involves generating and publishing workload performance and key reports to support maintenance functions.
Accountabilities
Maintenance Planning
- Review assigned SAP PM notifications and ensure complete and proper information is recorded.
- Convert and release assigned work orders (Corrective Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance).
- Plan maintenance jobs for assigned areas ensuring coordination with area customers and line/area availability (includes production, facility, and shutdown support).
- Determine if work order needs SHE or QA review and approval; execute the review process.
- Create weekly work order schedule and participate in planning/scheduling meetings to monitor work order status, effectiveness of schedule, customer needs, and material availability.
- Monitor the backlog and plan work according to equipment and process criticality.
- Co-owner of metrics for respective area.
- Ensure consistent use of SAP as a Planning Scheduling tool and identify continuous improvement opportunities and business benefits for Maintenance activities and processes in support of Lean and Maintenance Reliability efforts.
- Scope work orders and identify materials needed for work activities.
- Purchase work order material, create pick list, track committed deliveries, and kit and stage material for work execution.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Storeroom personnel on material availability and expediting.
- Coordinate contracts covering specific services as needed. Includes repairs/maintenance as well as miscellaneous site services.
- Responsible for direct oversight of contracted work.
SAP/Document Management Governance
PM Processing:
- Create and manage PM plans and task lists for both GMP and non-GMP equipment. Assign correct planner groups and work centers so that work is distributed appropriately.
- Create and manage document masters for all PM checklists.
- Consult with Facilitators regarding estimated hours and PM schedule/start dates and input into SAP
- TDMS manager and administrator for Site PM checklist documents, including GMP and non-GMP documents.
- Own and manage PM checklist process.
- Ensure consistency and integrity of checklists.
- Maintain Master Data as needed.
Reliability Support
- Own and manage group workload report.
- Assign new items to appropriate personnel.
- Track and follow-up to ensure that PM checklists are developed, processed, and scheduled.
- Generate SAP reports and support Facilitators in level loading of PM schedule hour and work order bundling.
- Review and triage PMs ensuring that complete and proper information is populated.
- Print PM orders on a weekly basis prior to scheduling meetings to aid in the assignment of work orders and work order bundling.
- Attend weekly planning/scheduling meetings and provide SAP knowledge and assistance with planning and scheduling efforts.
Subject Matter Expert Role
- Site subject matter expert for the equipment, work order, and PM modules in SAP.
- Provide equipment/work order/ PM maintenance records and documentation as required by Compliance, audits, and internal customers.
Continuous Improvement Work
- Ensure consistent use of SAP and identify continuous improvement opportunities and business benefits for Maintenance activities and processes in support of Lean and Maintenance Reliability efforts.
- Collaborate with Planners and Facilitators to evaluate and audit process metrics to identify issues and improvement opportunities related to SAP.
- Proactively identify cross PET improvement opportunities. Lead and support these opportunities as appropriate.
- Actively participate in changes to business processes, providing SAP support/coordination
- Actively work to improve upon and maintain master data integrity.
- Provide support in updating SOP’s as needed.
Essential Skills/Experience
- 3+yrs of industry experience w/ Bachelor’s degree or 5+yrs of industry experience w/ Associates Degree.
- Proficiency in SAP Plant Maintenance Module, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio (or other flow charting software).
- Working knowledge of GMPs as related to maintenance procedures and documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High attention to detail needed to check complex work for accuracy and completeness.
- Strong organization, administrative, and time-management skills.
- Ability to make good business decisions using sound judgment.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Formal related SAP training.
- Working knowledge of Building Facilities, Manufacturing, and Packaging Equipment Maintenance and Repair.
- Bachelor’s degree
