This role is a 4-month paid contract position, which starts in May 2025 and will end in August 2025. Our position will be based in our Mississauga head office and allow for flexible working arrangements working both onsite (3 times per week) and virtually.

Job Overview:
AstraZeneca's internship program offers students valuable development through real-life work experience, engaging projects, and networking with industry professionals. This position is ideal for a student eager to gain invaluable knowledge and experience in the pharmaceutical space, particularly in sales forecasting, market research & insights and business analytics and problem-solving within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
As the forecasting intern, your responsibilities will include:
· Gather and analyze data from various sources to support forecasting activities / models
· Maintain and update existing forecasting models to improve accuracy
· Prepare presentations and regular reports that summarize forecast assumptions, findings, and insights
· Work with different functions, such as marketing, finance, insights, analytics, pricing, and supply chain, to gather input and ensure alignment of forecasts with business needs
· Conduct research on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform forecasting models
· Spearhead initiatives to enhance forecasting tools, processes, and ways of working within the forecasting team and across the Oncology Business Unit (OBU) as part of the Oncology Business Excellence (OBEX) team
· Document forecasting processes, methodologies, and assumptions for future reference and continuity
· Create user manuals or guides for forecasting tools and models
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a 2nd or 3rd-year student in a relevant undergraduate degree program with a quantitative focus (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, or Life Sciences, etc.).
- Completed coursework in relevant subjects such as Data Analysis, Statistics, Forecasting Methods, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Business Analytics.
- Demonstrable business communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) for preparing professional presentations and reports.
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, R, Python, or SQL, including advanced Excel functions like pivot tables.
- Familiarity with statistical software such as SAS or SPSS for pharmaceutical data analysis.
- Eagerness to learn about pharmaceutical trends, market dynamics, and take initiative in projects.
- Previous internship or work experience in a related field is a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Understanding of project management principles.
- Availability to work full-time for the duration of the co-op term (May 5-August 31, 2025).
