As a Medical Advisor within AstraZeneca’s respirology team, you will work with passionate leaders, both internally and externally, focused on making a difference through their work. You will lead the development and execution of the strategic medical plan as a component of the integrated brand plan. This role is exclusively supporting a biologic treatment for COPD and LTRD (Tozorakimab).
What You’ll Do:
- Member of Brand/Lifecycle team(s), with participation in the development and delivery of strategic and operational plans, ensuring cohesive alignment between the medical and commercial plans.
- Create programs and initiatives that drive practice change by Identifying high risk patients & care gaps and deliver at scale solutions.
- Build /develop relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs) and Global Medical Affairs Teams.
- Coach and provide leadership and direction to the biologic respiratory Medical Science Liaison Teams.
- Be accountable for the leadership of the biologic respiratory therapeutic area team, building and delivering aligned medical plans.
- Provide medical/scientific support to medical/marketing/regulatory/market access within Canada to plan strategy and achieve approvals (TPD, CDR, PMPRB, PAAB).
- Collaboration with Site Management and Monitoring (SMM) to ensure trials are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with Medical Evidence group to drive review, approval, and execution of Externally Sponsored Research projects (ESRs) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) projects.
- Deliver scientific training in therapeutic area to colleagues outside of Scientific Affairs (e.g. sales, marketing, market access).
- Responsible for collecting and reporting Adverse Events in accordance with AstraZeneca policies and procedures.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5-7 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in clinical research and medical marketing.
- M.D. or Ph.D. degree Preferred.
- Proven interpersonal skills with respect to relationship building, influencing, and engaging with teams.
- Strong decision-making, strategic, and innovative thinking capabilities.
- Previous launch experiences.
- Good communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
- Comfort in using the latest digital technology.
- Excellent detail orientation and planning skills.
- Previous experience working in the respiratory therapeutic area is ideal.
- Knowledge of COPD and LRTD is considered an asset.
- Bilingualism in French/English is considered an asset.
