Emerging Technology Communication Internship

Introduction to the Role: The Emerging Technology Innovation (ETI) team is focused on identifying and accelerating the impact of emerging technologies that are going to shape the future of life sciences and pharma. We seek a motivated and versatile Communication Intern to support ETI’s communication efforts. This intern will play a critical role in supporting our content creation, dissemination efforts, and event planning and management. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and design skills, with a passion for transforming complex technology findings into engaging and accessible materials. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technology and science to drive innovation and transformation within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry, enabling patients to take control of their health and positioning them at the forefront of upcoming technological trends.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Content Creation and Design:
- Develop visually appealing and insightful slide decks, videos, and white papers that effectively communicate research findings and innovations.
- Apply graphic design software to build compelling visual content.
- Assist in creating written content for various platforms, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
PUBLISHING AND DISSEMINATION:
- Publish content across multiple communication channels, the team portal, and internal events.
- Support both internal and external communication efforts to ensure broad dissemination of research and innovations.
- Collaborate with team members to create content dissemination strategies.
EVENT MANAGEMENT:
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and driving events, including logistics management, promotional activities, on-site coordination, and post-event evaluation.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless event execution.
- Develop and implement promotional strategies to increase event attendance and engagement.
COLLABORATION AND SUPPORT:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and synthesize information for content creation.
- Provide support for various communication initiatives and projects as needed.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication across teams, leaders, and external partners.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Educational Background:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communication, Design, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- Familiarity with STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and emerging technologies is preferred.
DESIGN SKILLS:
- Experience in creating visually compelling contents using design tools.
- Ability to produce engaging video and media contents.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear and accessible language.
- Experience in drafting and formatting white papers, reports, and other professional documents.
- Excellent English verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and presentation.
CONTENT CREATION:
- Experience in producing content accross platforms, including digital and print media.
- Understanding of social media platforms and standard methodologies for content dissemination.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
- Prior internships or work experience in a related field such as marketing, communications, or design.
- Experience and curiosity in new technologies or STEM-related fields.
- Experience working on projects that required collaboration across functions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and web design principles is a plus.
- Familiarity with internal communication channels such as Workplace, company portals, and event management platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Event management skills
