ABOUT THE ROLE
Job Purpose:
The Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication plans to support AstraZeneca Near East and Maghreb corporate image across the region including the main therapy areas of focus. This role will also manage our sustainability & corporate responsibility programmes and oversee key corporate events that impact the organization's reputation. The Communication Specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to elevate AstraZeneca's corporate brand and engage with diverse stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing communication strategies that align with company objectives, supporting therapeutic areas and enhancing media coverage and reputation across the Near East and Maghreb region.
- Contribute to crafting engaging narratives tailored to various channels, ensuring consistency and audience engagement.
- Support collaboration with media and public relations agencies to achieve external communication goals and maintain the company’s reputation.
- Participate in Corporate Responsibility initiatives, including partnerships with NGOs, international organizations, while leveraging AstraZeneca sustainability programmes and initiatives.
- Assist in planning and coordinating key corporate events and activities.
- Work closely with Corporate Affairs and cross functional teams including marketing, access, regulatory and medical teams to ensure alignment with overall company strategies and messaging.
- Help create and refine high-quality, on-brand content such as press releases, articles, speeches, posts, videos, infographics and presentations for various channels.
- Monitor media coverage, social media activity, and industry trends to support the identification of opportunities and address potential risks.
- Contribute to measuring and reporting on the performance of communication activities, providing insights and suggestions for improvement.
Job Requirements:
Essential Criteria:
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role in a Marketing/Communications Agency and/or a Multinational Company.
- Both Agency and in-house experience in a multinational company would be considered the ideal profile.
- Proven experience in managing projects from end-to-end (E2E), including organising, planning, and executing campaigns while ensuring corporate branding standards are upheld.
- Strong writing abilities for both internal and external communication.
- Experience in design and content creation is a priority.
- Proficiency in creating compelling and visually appealing presentations.
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic is a must.
- Strong communication and storytelling abilities.
- Solid understanding of media dynamics and public relations.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in organising and managing events is an added advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
- Proficiency in French is a plus.
- Regional experience is not a requirement, but the candidate must demonstrate an understanding of cultural diversity and inclusivity.
