Senior Manager Demand Planning - Dublin / Cork

This position can be based in either Dublin or Cork

This position will be a key member of a team who are responsible for the consolidation and analyses of global demand for all Alexion products together with the generation of key business insights. The successful candidate will develop strong partnerships with a broad global stakeholder base and will ensure that timely Demand Planning analysis is available and published on an agreed regular cadence.

This role will be responsible for executing on the regular demand planning cycle of forecast refresh, forecast consumption & analysis, forecast accuracy and business demand reviews with Market General Managers and Finance Directors, providing demand as a service to Supply Operations & Supply Planning and generation of Demand Planning KPI’s. The successful candidate will also contribute to optimization of our demand planning processes so that they are scalable in preparation for the commercialization of our clinical Pipeline.

You will be responsible for:

  • Develop strong business partnerships with key stakeholders from Commercial, Finance, Clinical Supply, Operations, Market Access
  • Collect, consolidate, analyze and report out on global demand for all Alexion’s products.
  • Compile detailed analyses and insights into historic demand performance versus forecast and partner with stakeholders to determine how these insights can be used to continuously improve the accuracy of demand forecasting.
  • Lead the preparation of consolidated demand reporting ahead of the annual LongTerm Plan (LTP) and Mid Term Plan (MTP) business planning cycles.
  • Proactively provide business insights and analyses in support of multiple ad-hoc initiatives and analyses including Business Development activities.
  • Embed a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across Alexion’s Demand network, which enables the speedy proliferation of information which supports real time decision making.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve Demand Planning processes, partnering with the other key stakeholders to implement potential improvements. 
  • Execute regular and adhoc business demand and forecast accuracy reviews with Market GM’s, Finance Directors and Commercial partners.
  • Develop, continuously improve, and implement standardized, processes, policies and procedures.
  • Develop demand scenarios for input into IBP to allow capacity, COGS & inventory profile modelling to facilitate business decisions on network design and potential capex investments.
  • Develop knowledge of new products and indications from the commercial pipeline as they approach commercialization so that they transition to our global demand processes.
  • Partner with market commercial & finance organizations to align on launch forecast for patient supply planning.
  • Implement closed loop reporting to improve accuracy of demand forecasting and service to supply operations.
  • Partner with Supply Operations on key projects such as inventory segmentation.
  • Track and report on Demand Planning KPI’s such as forecast accuracy/Bias, demand related expedited packaging, product obsolescence.  
  • Lead cross-functional teams and initiatives as required.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and forecasting processes to provide timely insights and analyses to key stakeholders.

You will need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar or related role.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with proven ability to influence at executive level.
  • Ability to proactively plan and execute key inputs and deliverables to support monthly and quarterly reporting processes ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned with timelines.
  • Demonstrated acumen in using data analytics and advanced analytical skills.
  • Strong analytical ability to quickly identify trends and convert data into key business insights.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience with SAP and the use of technology solutions to manage analytics.
  • Experience in leading cross functional global initiatives.
  • A team player who will actively contribute to process optimization discussions and to maintaining an inclusive work culture.
