QC Analyst, Microbiology x 2 (12 month fixed term contract)

In this role, you will be part of a QC Microbiology team in College Park, Dublin that protects product quality every day—linking cleanroom performance and microbiological control to patient outcomes. Your work will directly support batch release and stability programs, ensuring our medicines meet the highest standards of sterility assurance and regulatory compliance.

You will own critical routines and drive improvements that matter: from environmental monitoring and trend analysis to investigations and CAPA that prevent recurrence. Accountabilities:

  • Environmental and Facilities Monitoring: Perform cleanroom and utility sampling and testing, trend results, and escalate early signals to maintain a state of control.
  • Release and Stability Testing: Execute microbiological methods to support product release and stability programs, delivering right-first-time data to meet schedule commitments.
  • GMP and Safety Excellence: Apply cGMP and GLP rigor, ensure accurate real-time documentation, and maintain impeccable housekeeping and safe work practices in the laboratory.
  • Laboratory Efficiency and Continuous Improvement: Complete project work and implement initiatives that streamline workflows, reduce cycle time, and strengthen inspection readiness.
  • Issue Escalation and Communication: Keep supervisors updated on laboratory issues, communicate risks with clarity, and align actions to quality and business priorities.
  • Deviation Investigation and CAPA: Lead or contribute to investigations using structured problem solving and root cause analysis; implement effective corrective and preventive actions within defined timelines.
  • Training and Capability Building: Train laboratory personnel and support the development, operation, and evaluation of training and retraining programs to raise team capability.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in cGMP Quality environment.
  • Experience in testing of sterile/non-sterile pharmaceutical /biopharmaceutical products.
  • Good knowledge of current regulatory requirements for Microbiology / Sterility Assurance in support of cGMP operations supporting clinical and commercial manufacturing.
  • Degree in Microbiology or related science.
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an lab environment. As is typical of a lab-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: lift/carry 15/30 pounds unassisted/assisted; work comfortably in a controlled environment with and around biological, infectious, and hazardous materials; gown/degown PPE; use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Experience/Knowledge of aseptic techniques
