Typical Accountabilities:
• Significantly inputs to the regional / functional clinical strategy and approves policies and procedures that contribute to this strategy

• Inputs to the development of an overall strategy for the Clinical Development area

• Manages either one principal function within the Clinical Development area, or a geographical area within the span of Clinical Development

• Sets and monitors the performance of the Clinical Development functional area against standards and targets in areas such as administration efficiency, cost control, sales revenue, legal compliance and human resource management

• Ensures that tactical leadership decisions are enforced in order for the business to achieve its objectives

• Leads, guides, evaluates and develops the Clinical Development functional team to ensure that the area achieves it business objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws

• Coaches and delivers effect performance to direct and indirect reports creating a supportive work environment where everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential

• Approximate number of people managed in total (all levels) -
• Manager of a team

What is the global remit? (how many countries will the role operate in?):
• 4 or more countries at a minimum of 40% of time

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Essential: Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject area; Mastery of Clinical Development area and multi-disciplinary experience (cross-functional or functional)
• Desirable:

• External (to AZ): Organisations which oversee Clinical Development
