Accountabilities

• Ethical conduct and compliance.
• Intensifies quality issues or potential non-compliance to Metrology Management.
• Performs and documents calibration testing, aligning with cGMP and current safety regulations.
• Records, reviews, and reports calibration results and documentation from vendor-performed (off-site) calibrations.
• Upholds, mentors, and is a role model to other AstraZeneca Associates through honesty, integrity, self-motivation, and teamwork.
• Writes, reviews, and revises calibration activities SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and/or work instructions.
• Guides others on SOPs, control documents, and/or other work instructions.
• Reports process deviations when they occur.
• Recommends and initiates activities to ensure area and equipment are maintained in a state of compliance.
• Provides “off shift” support during scheduled coverage days or nights.
• In the absence of a Supervisor and Lead, assigns work tasks and activities to others.
• Prepares documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provides guidance, direction, and effective solutions to clients and department technical resources.
• Documents and investigates calibration deviations and out-of-tolerance events as a Technical SME (Subject Matter Expert.)
• Evaluates systems and instrumentation that measure characteristics of objects, substances, or phenomena using derived units of physical or chemical measurement.
• Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to resolve reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms.
• Performs preventative (scheduled) and corrective/emergency (unscheduled) maintenance of equipment, systems, and/or facilities without supervision.
• Serves as SME for calibration activities.
• Adjusts measurement capability to minimize errors.
• Performs equipment troubleshooting and repair.
• Develops client quotes and proposals.
• Provides oversight and project planning, schedules, test equipment, documentation, and ensures client requirements are met. Also responsible for ensuring accurate and timely scheduling, resource allocation, proposal and quotation development, Labor Utilization Reports (LURs), fixed cost and T&E project management for profitability.
• Basic understanding and familiarity with incubators, centrifuges, balances, refrigerators and freezers, stability chambers, chromatography (HPLC or GC), spectrophotometers, other general laboratory equipment as needed per clients.

Essential Skills/Experience

• High School Diploma
• Three – five years professional experience in metrology
• Show proficiency in verbal and written communication in English.
• Must be familiar with and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge in GMP regulations applicable to where the product is marketed.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Calibration Technician Certification
• Associates degree in Electronics with at minimum two years of metrology experience
