Do you want to take the challenge as our new Medical Advisor in Lung Cancer covering Denmark? In this role you will work closely with colleagues across the Nordics to implement the Medical Affairs Oncology strategy. While based in Denmark, you will actively support activities in Denmark and Norway. With dedicated field-based medical advisors already in place for lung cancer in each country, this new role will complement and enhance cross-border activities, fostering close collaboration with the established teams in both Denmark and Norway.
Introduction to the role:
As a field-based Scientific Medical Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the strategy and clinical development of our oncology products. You will contribute to international and regional studies and be responsible for medical/scientific activities for AstraZeneca’s marketed products and compounds in development. In this role, you will translate scientific knowledge and insights into strategies and actions that drive decision making, helps bringing new medicines to patients and ultimately support business success.
You will report to Sofia Risberg, Nordic Therapeutic Area Lead for Lung Cancer
Accountabilities:
You will be tasked with collaborating with Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate use of established and future AZ products. You will facilitate medical/scientific exchange activities to increase comprehension of clinical data, contribute to developing study concepts, identify new opportunities and evidence gaps, and work closely with investigators to generate data to inform clinical practice. You will also support scientific programs that explore unmet medical needs and patient support, work cross-functionally to provide medical insight on product strategies, cross-functional plans and key deliverables including reimbursement dossiers and regulatory documents.
Essential skills/experience:
- A Medical Affairs professional who holds an advanced scientific degree and/or master´s degree in Life Sciences or a related subject area or an MD.
- Expertise in oncology with clinical experience and/or a few years’ experience from a medical affairs role is preferred.
- Shown expertise in understanding, assimilating, and communicating complex scientific information with a human touch
- A curious team player, that contributes actively to discussions, ask questions and share knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to others and understand their perspectives, to build trust and positive relationships.
- Entrepreneurial and collaborative approach to engaging with external stakeholders as well as cross-functional colleagues.
- Business-oriented thinking, without compromising the scientific elements of the job.
- Experience from working in cross-functional teams.
- A patient focused approach and integrity in external interactions.
- Good planning, communication and organizational skills and an ability to achieve results without compromising quality is required.
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, health care system and payer structures.
- Knowledge about healthcare systems and payer structures in both Norway and Denmark is an advantage, but not a prerequisite
- Ability to travel, driver’s license and Norwegian or Danish as well as English language skills required.
