Accountabilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Assess current state of platforms, define future state needs, identify gaps, recommend new technology solutions and strategic business execution improvements, and support product roadmap development consistent with overall strategic needs.
- Understand data mesh and data product WoW, apply technology and tools to improve data product WoW.
Data Foundation Platforms
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of robust Data Foundation services for Snowflake and integration tools.
- Responsible for both PlatformOps and FinOps where applicable.
- Manage and optimize the technology stack, ensuring alignment with security, architecture, compliance, and performance standards.
- Ensure automation is at the heart of our processes and technologies to ensure effective and responsive delivery timeframes.
- Provide technical support to the project delivery organization throughout the project lifecycle.
- GitHub Actions Development – writing up new actions as per business needs (e.g., composite or dockerized).
Quality Assurance
- Implement and oversee robust quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and security of data.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the data foundation platforms.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Strong experience with Snowflake administration and development is essential.
- Extensive experience in implementation & management of data, analytics & AI platforms.
- Extensive experience in CloudOps, DevOps, DataOps, and infrastructure setup and maintenance.
- Experience with Airflow and dbt.
- Experience with Python and Linux.
- Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
- FinOps experience - cost optimization in Snowflake, AWS.
- Experience with IaC with Terraform.
- Strong knowledge of BI landscape, data warehouse solutions, including cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- AWS experience with (but not limited to) EC2, S3, IAM, r53, DynamoDB, Lambda, RDS, ECR, EKS, Networking.
- Experience in knowledge graph platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- A proven track record of working in engineering technologies with the technical expertise and ability to make connections between technology and delivering business value. Pharma sector experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills with AZ teams, peers, and third-party suppliers.
- Ability to work in diverse multinational teams and proven ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience in Docker, Jira, NodeJS, Artifactory, SonarQube (a plus).
