About the Role:

AstraZeneca is seeking a dynamic Senior Scientist to join our Safety OMICs team and help revolutionize drug development through cutting-edge omics technologies and artificial intelligence to accelerate drug discovery.

The position will be within the broader Clinical Pharmacology and Safety Sciences department. This role will be based in Cambridge, UK, in our state-of-the-art Discovery Centre on the Biomedical campus, a highly collaborative environment that enables us to drive innovation across our disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the integration and analysis of multi-OMICs datasets using advanced AI techniques to uncover novel biological insights and support our drug discovery programs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement AI-driven methods for toxicity prediction, biomarker discovery and personalized medicine.

  • Develop and validate predictive models to support drug discovery and development pipelines.

  • Mentor and guide junior scientists, encouraging a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field with a focus on OMICs and AI.

  • Extensive experience in machine learning, data mining, and statistical modelling techniques applied to biotechnological research.

  • Proven track record of publications in high-impact scientific journals.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
