Value and Access Manager (Toscana, Marche, Umbria, Sardegna)

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of rare diseases? As a Value & Access Manager (VAM), you will be the key contact responsible for local market access in Italian Regions. Your role will involve analyzing access issues and opportunities, monitoring the healthcare local environment, and interacting with access stakeholders at both hospital and regional levels. Your mission is to ensure the right positioning of our orphan drugs within Ethics and Compliance policies.

Accountabilities
• Develop and implement Market Access Plan and Strategy, aligned with the Cluster Team and ultimately validated by the Head of the Department in the defined zones.
• Analyze local access issues and opportunities, anticipating changes in the local healthcare landscape and act as the access partner for all the franchises and products of the company.
• Establish partnerships at the hospital level with Hospital Pharmacists, Medical Managers, and Hospital Managers and at the regional level with payers and decision-makers for the right positioning of our orphan drugs and to reduce funding barriers.
• Support product access through local strategies and resolve funding issues with payers and decision-makers in a manner consistent and compliant with company policies and requirements.
• Gather evidence to demonstrate value to health technology assessment bodies, payers, and other audiences.
• Remain up to date regarding the external market access environment.
• Increase product awareness at meetings with access stakeholders.
• Participate in the development of account action plans, working cross-functionally with Sales, Medical, Marketing, and Strategic Partnership Departments.
• Maintain a constant presence in the field interacting with field staff (Area Managers, RAM, Strategic Account Partner, Medical Scientific Liaisons) gathering and sharing relevant information for the development and implementation of action plans.
• Be accountable for the execution and follow-up of his/her activities agreed in the action plans.
• Support cross-functional teams as a Market Access partner offering tailored support and demonstrate effective communication with internal teams.
• The position is field-based and requires traveling most of the time.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (i.e. Pharmacist, Biologist, Biotechnology)
• 8+ years’ Experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry 
• Knowledge of National and Regional Health System, regulations and and legal aspects
• Must be able to credibly discuss pharmaceutical/medical product details with access stakeholders
• Ability to manage complex situations & ambiguity and being able to make decisions
• Ability to understand and anticipate future Market Access scenarios, challenges, and opportunities
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional matrix
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and individually
• Ability to synthesize clinical and health evidence into messages easily understood by non-technical stakeholders
• Project management & analytical skills, rigor, and methodology at work
• Business acumen
• Problem-solving and result-oriented approach
• Negotiation skills and flexibility
• Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Integrity and trust
• English and Italian knowledge
• Domicile: Tuscany

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Strong previous experience in Market Access
• Pharma-economics / Health Economics degree or certification
