Senior Specialist Business Strategy, Operational Data Strategy
The Senior Specialist Business Strategy, Data Discovery and Consultancy reports to the Director of Operational Data Strategy. This role will aid with data diagnostics/landscaping, requirements and user story development, process and stakeholder management for operational data. You will possess a strong analytical mindset, communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow in the field of Operational Data Strategy.
Accountabilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and assist in translating them into detailed data requirements and user stories.
- Support in conducting data diagnostics and analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in operational data under the guidance of senior team members.
- Assist in data landscaping efforts to ensure data quality, integrity, and governance for operational datasets.
- Actively engage in knowledge forums and communities of practice to learn and stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data analysis and operational data management.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to document and optimize business processes related to operational data.
- Actively manage and maintain the team working space, the administration of the Jira Project Board, and follow up with members of the Operational Data Strategy team on any outstanding actions, issues, etc.
- Provide support on the definition of standards and ways of working for Data Discovery and Consultancy, to aid the wider working of Operational Data Strategy.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data analysis principles, with a willingness to learn and apply new techniques and best practices.
- Proficiency in gathering and documenting business requirements, user stories, and process flows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an eagerness to learn from senior team members.
- Proficient level of usage of tools such as PowerPoint, Excel.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar is a plus.
- Basic understanding of SQL, data querying, and data manipulation is advantageous.
- Interest in operational data management principles and methodologies.
- Experience with Atlassian (Jira) or familiar tools.
- Management or strategy consultancy.
- Experience in life sciences industry.
