Finance Senior Business Analyst

Lisbon is home to our Portuguese Marketing Company, responsible for the marketing and supply of our medicines in Portugal. We are looking for a strong talent to join the team as our Finance Senior Business Analyst, to support all financial planning activities, achieve strategic and operational goals, and ensure robust and timely submissions.
As Finance Senior Business Analyst, you will support business functions by providing financial guidance and ensure that all stakeholders within the business area receive the financial information they require to drive the business performance. Accountabilities
Responsibilities of this role will include:
The Business Analyst will be viewed by finance and business customers as a financial modelling and analysis expert. The role broadly includes the following key components:
- Business Strategy & Decision Support: to provide support to key business & investment decisions, coordinating data collection from a variety of sources and formats, performing analysis in support of options, and enabling appropriate decision making by the business and finance partners
- Business Performance: To be accountable for complex, manual accounting journals, to communicate monthly performance, provide analytical and data collection support to business planning processes, and coordinate presentations for key business and finance review meetings.
- Prepare accurate and timely revenue and cost analysis against targets, being able to translate the numbers into understandable drivers
- Collaborate with the Lead Finance Business Partner and department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts
- Provide financial insights and recommendations for improving financial performance (i.e. propose corrective measures, identify revenue opportunities, and investment relocations/efficiencies)
- Participation and contribution in ad hoc projects
- Continuous Improvement & Governance: Support continuous improvement in Finance processes and capabilities and promote best practice sharing and support the implementation of agile financial tools and processes
- Ensure compliance with financial standards and regulations
Essential Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certificate is preferred (e.g. CMA, ACCA)
- Experience of working in a global organisation, preferably within the pharmaceuticals industry, and of the drug development life cycle and commercial aspects of the industry
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team and liaising with senior managers
- Proven experience in financial planning and reporting
- Very good understanding of functional cost drivers
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office (e.g. Excel, Power Query, PBI) and proficient in financial systems (e.g. SAP)
- Strong Excel/modelling/Power BI skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including oral & written
- Oral & written fluency in English
