Senior Analyst - Forecasting Oncology

Introduction to role:
Are you ready to turn patient flow insights into forecasts that shape Oncology strategy and impact patients’ lives across the US? Translate complex datasets into clear narratives that senior leaders trust to make significant choices!
Based in Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore, and working a 2 PM – 11 PM IST shift on a hybrid schedule, you will partner closely with the US Oncology Forecast Leader and cross-functional commercial teams to build robust revenue, volume, and patient forecasts for strategic brands. Your work will anchor brand planning, advise investment and access decisions, and bring clarity to risk and opportunity as therapies progress through the market.
From building patient-based and patient flow models to integrating S&OP and new product introductions, you will be the go-to authority for short- and mid-term forecasts that align assumptions across Marketing, Sales, Market Access and Pricing, Finance, and Sales Operations. You will help set expectations for performance, evolve forecasting capabilities, and equip leadership with the confidence to act fast.
Accountabilities:
- Forecast Model Development: Build, validate, and maintain short-, mid-, and long-term product forecasts that synthesize data from multiple sources into a single, clear view of demand and revenue.
- Patient Flow Forecasting: Develop and refine patient-based models that reflect real-world diagnosis and treatment pathways, treatment dynamics, and market access drivers.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Drive alignment on assumptions and scenarios with Marketing, Sales, Market Access and Pricing, Finance, and Sales Operations to ensure forecasts inform strategy and operational plans.
- Scenario and Sensitivity Analysis: Apply industry-leading modeling approaches, conduct sensitivity analyses on key variables, and quantify risks and opportunities to support confident decision-making.
- Leadership Communication: Present and defend methodologies, assumptions, and outputs to senior collaborators, clearly detailing confidence levels and model adaptability.
- New Product Introduction: Develop short- and long-term launch forecasts that foster strategic and operational planning, ensuring readiness for multiple launch scenarios.
- Performance Intelligence: Lead core business planning workstreams, including performance analytics, QBRs, sales bridges, and ad-hoc analyses supporting Finance and Commercial leadership.
- S&OP Integration: Participate in monthly S&OP, submit volumes, and maintain weekly, monthly, and yearly models and conversions for ongoing demand planning.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify capability gaps, embed innovation in methods and tools, and champion process improvements that increase forecasting accuracy and speed.
- Data Integration: Source and harmonize findings derived from market research, secondary data, claims, epidemiology, and syndicated datasets to improve model fidelity and objectivity.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in relevant field
- 7-10 years of direct Pharmaceutical forecasting experience with an in-depth knowledge of forecasting techniques, models and approaches
- In-depth understanding of Oncology and how patients move through their respective diagnosis and treatment pathways, including treatment dynamics
- Experience integrating insights from market research and secondary data analysis into forecast assumptions
- Experience applying various data sources and analytics involving standard data in the Pharmaceutical industry – e.g. IQVIA (MIDAS, DDD NPA, Monthly Xponent), claims data (Truven, Marketscan), epidemiological data, etc. For US forecasting, experience with TRx / NBRx / NRx data and methodologies
- Strong analytical expertise; excellent Excel, financial modelling and forecasting skills
- Ability to build positive relationships across a range of partner groups including Marketing, Analytics, Operations, and Technology
- Validated experience in problem solving and continuous improvement
- Strong written and verbal communication
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred (e.g., PhD, MBA, Masters)
- Knowledge and experience in sophisticated statistical forecast methodologies and applied AI / ML / automation
- Experience working with Power Apps, specifically PowerBI
- Validated understanding of US Market Access, Oncology landscape and gross-to-net etc.
