P&R Lead and NPP

Lieu Séoul, Seoul, Corée du Sud Job ID R-248381 Date de publication 03/19/2026

Job Description

About the Role

  • This is a dual-role position. The primary responsibility of this role is Pricing & Reimbursement (P&R) Lead, with an additional responsibility in New Product Planning, NPP. Candidates are expected to manage both functions concurrently and should clearly understand this dual accountability before applying.
  • At AstraZeneca, we believe the only person who can limit your professional growth is yourself. With the right expertise and ambition, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape both the future of patient access and the strategic direction of AstraZeneca Korea's pipeline.
  • This is a strategically critical role within the Market Access function. The role is primarily responsible for leading Pricing & Reimbursement (P&R) strategy for AstraZeneca Korea — with a particular focus on Rare Disease — while additionally supporting New Product Planning to enable accelerated market access across the broader AstraZeneca pipeline.
  • The role requires close collaboration with Medical Affairs, Global Early Commercial, Global R&D, and Insights & Analytics, bridging clinical development, health economics, and commercialization planning to ensure both near-term reimbursement success and long-term pipeline readiness.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY ROLE: Pricing & Reimbursement Lead

P&R Strategy Development & Execution

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive Pricing & Reimbursement strategies for AstraZeneca Korea's portfolio, with primary focus on Rare Disease assets
  • Develop high-quality P&R dossiers, including health economic analyses (HEOR), budget impact models, and value demonstration frameworks aligned with Korea's reimbursement requirements
  • Define and execute pricing strategies that maximize product value while ensuring sustainable, long-term market access

Payer Engagement & Negotiation

  • Lead and support price negotiation strategies with Korean payer authorities including HIRA (Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service) and NHIS (National Health Insurance Service)
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key payer stakeholders to secure optimal reimbursement outcomes
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on payer engagement strategy and messaging

Policy Monitoring & Value Protection

  • Proactively monitor changes in Korean pricing regulations, reimbursement policies, and healthcare policy landscape
  • Develop mitigation strategies to minimize pricing erosion and protect long-term product value
  • Provide actionable recommendations to Market Access Director and internal leadership on policy developments and their commercial implications

HTA Strategy & HEOR Leadership

  • Lead HTA (Health Technology Assessment) strategy development, including coordination of health economic model development with internal and external HEOR experts
  • Ensure P&R strategies are grounded in robust evidence and aligned with global value narratives while adapted for local Korean context

SECONDARY ROLE: New Product Planning, NPP (Early Asset Strategy)

Early Asset Strategy Representation

  • Represent Corporate Strategy Early Asset on the New Product Planning Team, serving as the key interface between the Korea MC, Global Early Commercial, Global R&D, and Global SMM
  • Under the direction of the New Product Planning Lead, translate integrated Early Asset strategies into operational plans with clear deliverables and timelines

Access Landscape Assessment & Pipeline Readiness

  • Assess the access landscape for prioritized pipeline assets across AstraZeneca's portfolio; identify potential barriers, opportunities, and key success factors (KSFs) for accelerated market access
  • Define and support market readiness initiatives, including policy shaping activities and engagement with patient advocacy groups (PAGs)
  • Escalate strategic issues and recommendations to the Early Asset Lead as appropriate

Early Evidence & Commercial Integration

  • Support evidence gap assessment and align access strategy with medical evidence generation plans in collaboration with Medical Affairs
  • Contribute to commercial assessments — including treatment pattern studies, product profile testing, claims analysis, and patient research — to support business cases and investment decisions
  • Work with Insights & Analytics teams to translate primary market research into actionable access insights

NPP Governance & Reporting

  • Provide the Early Asset Lead with clear, evidence-based recommendations regarding pipeline opportunities and risks
  • Maintain progress indicators and prepare regular updates for Early Asset governance forums and internal decision-making bodies

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, life sciences, health economics, or related field; advanced degree (MPH, MBA, MSc, PhD) preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Pricing & Reimbursement, Market Access, or Health Economics within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry in Korea
  • Proven track record of leading P&R dossier development and reimbursement submissions in Korea
  • Strong working knowledge of Korean reimbursement processes (HIRA/NHIS), HTA frameworks, and health economic modeling
  • Experience with Rare Disease products and associated premium pricing / risk-sharing scheme negotiations is highly desirable
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams across P&R and pipeline strategy functions

Preferred

  • Prior exposure to New Product Planning (NPP), Early Asset Strategy, or pipeline planning within a pharmaceutical company
  • Experience working in cross-functional global-local matrix environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in both Korean and English
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into compelling, decision-ready recommendations
