SAP SD Functional Consultant – ECC & S/4 HANA

Lieu Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexique Job ID R-256920 Date de publication 07/23/2026

Introduction to Role

Are you ready to turn complex order-to-cash challenges into simpler, faster ways of working at a truly global scale? Join a team modernising our core ERP capabilities and directly influence how we plan, sell, invoice and deliver, helping our medicines move from lab to patient efficiently and compliantly. Can you see yourself designing solutions that thousands of colleagues rely on every day?

This role sits at the heart of a multi-continent landscape where ECC and S/4 HANA coexist, integrations are critical, and regulatory needs are non‑negotiable. You will shape design, configuration and support for SAP SD, bringing clarity to cross‑functional processes and interfaces, and ensuring we deliver robust, scalable outcomes that unlock business value and real-time insight.

Accountabilities

  • ECC and S/4 HANA SD Delivery: Lead configuration, functional design, testing and deployment for enhancements and projects across multiple landscapes; provide high‑quality support for incidents and service requests.
  • Order‑to‑Cash Process Leadership: Own and optimise niche processes including CFDI (Mexico electronic invoicing), NFe (Brazil), intercompany, internal subcontracting, flash sales and sales‑through; drive standardisation and reuse.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Drive conversations with business stakeholders to understand needs, prepare high‑level solutions and estimates, and convert them into clear functional specifications that developers and testers can use.
  • Integration Excellence: Define and validate integration with FI and MM; ensure end‑to‑end process integrity from pricing to billing to accounting; partner closely with ABAP teams for build and defect resolution.
  • Interface and EDI Stewardship: Govern and improve interfaces via PI/CPI/API/WebServices; design and maintain EDI mappings; strengthen IDoc processing for resilience, monitoring and faster issue resolution.
  • Quality, Governance and Compliance: Operate within release and change controls; support validated environments and audit‑ready processes; champion Solution Manager and best‑practice documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify recurring issues and root causes; implement durable fixes and automation that reduce incidents and speed flow from order to invoice.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Mentoring: Review peer designs, propose improvements, and mentor junior colleagues within a diverse, globally distributed team, including occasional shift coverage to support key markets.
  • Business Impact: Tie technology improvements to measurable outcomes, on‑time order fulfilment, compliant invoicing, reduced cost‑to‑serve and better visibility across the supply chain.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience as an SAP SD functional consultant, with demonstrable configuration expertise across ECC and S/4 HANA environments.
  • Solid configuration knowledge across core SD processes, provable in a technical interview, not just theoretical.
  • At least one full SD module implementation (greenfield or brownfield).
  • Experience acting as the functional bridge between business users and technical teams (ABAP, Basis), including writing detailed functional specifications that developers can build from.
  • Ability to lead requirements conversations with business stakeholders, prepare high-level solutions, and produce reliable estimates.
  • Experience with various estimation techniques for effort and delivery planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of EDI messaging, mapping, translation, and IDoc processing, from daily support through to new-setup projects.
  • Strong understanding of key integration points between SD, FI, and MM in end-to-end business processes.
  • Experience with interfaces across PI/CPI/API/WebServices and integration with non-SAP systems.
  • Experience working in highly customized SAP environments with complex interface landscapes.
  • Familiarity with Solution Manager methodologies and release governance processes.
  • Experience with incident management tooling and working within change-controlled, validated environments.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken). This is non-negotiable given the regional scope.
  • Comfortable supporting global markets across time zones, including periodic shift coverage as the team transitions toward a follow-the-sun model.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with a bias toward root-cause analysis and durable fixes over workarounds.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • S/4 HANA Fiori Apps experience or familiarity with the S/4 HANA user experience layer.
  • Hands-on experience in additional SAP core modules (FI, MM, PP).
  • Exposure to S/4 HANA-native modules: Transportation Management (TM), Global Trade Services (GTS), Business Network for Logistics (BN4L), or Document Reporting and Compliance (DRC).
  • More than one full SAP implementation.
  • S/4 HANA Sales certification.
  • ABAP debugging capability (not development, diagnostic use for self-service troubleshooting).
  • Country-specific localization experience (CFDI, NFe, LATAM electronic invoicing).
  • Understanding of business processes in life sciences or pharmaceutical supply chain.
  • Familiarity with GxP and SOX requirements in a validated environment.
