Join AstraZeneca’s GBS Field Operations team as a senior Report Engineer and shape how data drives decisions across our Commercial organization. We’re looking for a seasoned data professional with7+ years of experience—ideally with exposure topharmaceutical marketing/field data—who thrives at the intersection ofETL engineeringandinsight generation. If you love building scalable pipelines, unlocking signal in messy data, and translating analytics into action, this role is for you.

What you’ll do

  • ETL Engineering: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalableETL pipelinesusingPython, SQL, PySparkto process large multi-source datasets into analytics and reporting environments.
  • Performance & Reliability:Optimizeworkflows for speed, resilience, and cost efficiency inAWS Databricks; handle debugging, tuning, and complex data orchestration.
  • Data Quality: Leaddata cleansing, validation, enrichment, audits, and reconciliations to ensure trusted downstream analytics.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Create standardized and ad hocreports, dashboards, and visualizationsto surface trends, patterns, andKPIsfor sales, marketing, and field operations.
  • Business Insights: Translate analysis intoclear recommendationsthat improve targeting, coverage, and effectiveness of field teams.
  • Collaboration: Partner withdata engineers, business analysts, and commercial stakeholdersto define requirements and deliver reliable reporting solutions.
  • Documentation & Reuse: Maintaindata flows, dictionaries, and process documentationto support scale and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and executeprocess improvements; evaluate newquantitative methods and technologiesto advance our analytics capabilities.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience: Minimum7+ yearsin data analysis/engineering with proven ETL pipeline ownership. Experience withpharma marketing/field datais highly desirable.
  • Technical depth: Strongdata modeling,data warehousing, andETL architecturefundamentals; hands-onApache SparkandAWS Databricks.
  • Performance mindset: Proficiency indebugging,performance tuning, and optimizing ETL for high-volume, complex data.
  • Reporting capability: Ability todesign dashboardsand build reports;VBA automationexperience is a plus.
  • Domain knowledge: Familiarity withIQVIA Xponent & DDD, industry guidelines, and field reporting best practices is advantageous.
  • Collaboration & communication: Excellent written and verbal communication with a track record ofinfluencing business decisionsthrough insights.
  • Certifications:CRT020: Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark (Python)is a plus.
  • Core strengths:Attention to detail, pattern recognition, organization, and time management; strategic and critical thinking with credibility among commercial leaders.
