Associate Director, S/4HANA Data Transformation - Data Quality & Analysis - Finance

Play a pivotal role in ensuring business data readiness for AstraZeneca's SAP S/4HANA migration. As Associate Director, S/4HANA Data Transformation - Data Quality & Analysis Finance, you will lead data quality activities and remediation within the Finance domain. You will collaborate closely with Finance stakeholders and cross-functional teams to cleanse, harmonize, and reconcile financial data, ensuring seamless migration and establishing a sustainable data quality framework for post-deployment success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Cleansing and Harmonization:Define scope and guidelines for SAP ECC (ERP Central Component) data cleansing aligned with data design definitions, standards, and migration relevancy across the Finance and Controlling (FI/CO) domain.
  • Data Reconciliation:Design, specify, and execute comprehensive data reconciliation reports between SAP ECC (pre-migration) and SAP S/4HANA (post-migration) environments to ensure data migration completeness and accuracy across finance and controlling domains.
  • Data Quality Framework Development:Define and implement the S/4HANA data quality framework to ensure data remains fit for purpose post-deployment and can continue to be used with confidence.
  • Standards Definition:Partner with Data Design teams to define data standards through analysis of existing SAP ECC data sets and enhance data quality at source for smooth S/4HANA migration.
  • Cleanse Strategy and Execution:Scope and implement targeted data cleansing activities for migration readiness; contribute to ECC Cleanse and S/4 Migration strategies and delivery plans.
  • Data Profiling and Analysis:Define data profiling requirements and provide business interpretation of profiling outputs, including data reconciliation; identify, document, and resolve data quality issues.
  • Interim State Reporting:Support impact assessments, design, and management of interim state reporting, navigating through the split system landscape of partial S/4HANA and ECC deployment.
  • Issue Management:Oversee data quality issue management and drive resolution across Finance data objects.
  • Quality Strategy Leadership:Drive the development and execution of the Finance S/4 Data Quality strategy and roadmap; define data quality requirements, metrics, and processes for measuring and reporting.
  • Sustainable Framework:Build a sustainable data quality framework for ongoing monitoring and remediation; ensure alignment with S/4 Data Governance framework and embed ongoing data quality measures into business-as-usual processes.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • SAP Finance Expertise:Working and implementation experience with SAP ECC Finance and Controlling (FI/CO) modules, including data migration activities and deep knowledge of finance business processes, SAP transactions, and reporting.
  • Data Migration Proficiency:Experience in SAP data migration processes and tools, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills in data quality management.
  • Data Quality Management:Functional experience in data quality management, including data quality rules, reporting, issue management, and remediation; knowledge of data quality principles and practices (data profiling, discovery, root cause analysis, automated DQ solutions).
  • Master Data Knowledge:Good understanding of Master Data Management and Reference Data Management principles.
  • Requirements Elicitation:Ability to work with business users to elicit and formally define their requirements; strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Project Leadership:Ability to lead conflicting priorities and manage complex data quality analysis and improvement projects.
  • Global Collaboration:Ability to lead in diverse, global teams within and across functions; experience with global working and across cultures.
  • Stakeholder Influence:Strong communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives; proven ability to lead and manage negotiations across complex groups to target outcomes.
  • Delivery Focus:Proven track record of delivery and ability to effectively prioritize to ensure goals and outcomes are achieved.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Education and Experience:Degree in Finance, Engineering, or equivalent, with relevant SAP experience and subject matter expertise in Finance and Controlling objects and processes.
  • SAP Proficiency:Demonstrable working knowledge of SAP ECC Finance and Controlling modules, transactions, and reporting, with understanding of data integration across SAP architectures.
  • Transformation Leadership:Proven experience leading complex data quality/data migration initiatives within large-scale transformation programs.
  • Data Enhancement Capabilities:Experience applying leading-edge data quality enhancement capabilities covering profiling, analysis, migration, and cleansing to achieve step-change in data quality.
  • Complex Project Management:Experience managing complex data quality analysis and improvement projects.
  • Global Collaboration:Experience working in diverse, global teams across functions and cultures.
  • Influence and Negotiation:Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and lead negotiations to achieve target outcomes.
  • Delivery Focus:Proven track record of prioritizing effectively to achieve goals and outcomes; demonstrated project leadership skills.

Desirable

  • S/4HANA Experience:S/4HANA implementation programme experience.
  • Finance Process Knowledge:Deep knowledge of Finance and Controlling business processes, SAP transactions and reporting, and their connection with data and data flows.
  • Data Management Concepts:Understanding of data concepts and experience in data management capabilities including data lineage, data definitions, and data governance.
  • Broader Data Capabilities:Understanding of or experience in other data-related capabilities including data architecture, data analytics, data modelling, self-assessment, policy assurance, quality assurance, and control testing.
  • Data Governance:Experience in Data Governance initiatives and proven experience partnering with Business and IT.
  • Technical Tools:Knowledge of ETL, SQL, and Syniti Advanced Data Migration (ADM); experience with data management tools.
  • Industry Experience:Background in life sciences and healthcare.
  • Additional SAP Modules:Working knowledge of SAP ECC Project System (PS) modules, Sales & Distribution (SD) modules, and Business Partners; understanding of integration between SAP ECC Logistics and Financial modules.
