We are currently seeking a Finance Administrator to join our Croatia team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional to provide vital operational support across a broad range of finance activities, ensuring compliance, accuracy and efficiency while supporting the business in achieving its goals.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Planning and Reporting Lead Balkans, the Finance Administrator will play a key role in supporting finance operations across Purchase-to-Pay, Accounts Receivable, contract administration, asset management, financial reporting and compliance activities. The successful candidate will contribute to process optimisation initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase-to-Pay (P2P)
Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) within SAP, including monitoring PO ageing.
Support timely invoice processing and e-invoicing controls.
Provide posting instructions for non-PO invoices, including HCP contracts.
Work closely with Accounts Payable teams to ensure efficient invoice processing.
Review outstanding vendor balances and liaise with suppliers to facilitate payments.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Issue intercompany invoices.
Prepare and issue local invoices through the Edicom portal.
HCP Contract Administration
Reconcile HCP contracts for outsourced calculations.
Collect and verify supporting documentation.
Prepare payment documentation and coordinate with authorship agencies.
Asset Management & Employee Payments
Process company fleet lease invoices and prepare VAT analyses.
Maintain lease information within IFRS 16 tracking systems.
Provide Payroll and HR with employee benefit-in-kind and non-taxable payment data.
Support travel and expense processing, including company credit card uploads into SAP.
Ensure payroll-related bank statements are accurately posted.
Banking, Reporting & Compliance
Prepare payments through local banking platforms and support manual bank payments through AstraZeneca banking teams.
Prepare month-end accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
Support VAT reporting and review processes.
Prepare documentation for annual financial statement audits.
Support internal and external audit and tax-related queries.
Assist with reporting obligations to the Croatian National Bank.
Essential Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent professional training.
Previous experience in a finance, accounting or administrative role within a corporate environment.
Understanding of local accounting standards, taxation legislation and financial processes.
Experience working with finance systems, preferably SAP.
Fluent English language skills.
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
Continuous improvement mindset with an openness to new technologies and AI-enabled ways of working.
Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude.
Desirable Requirements
University degree and/or relevant professional finance qualification.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Additional experience within a multinational corporate environment.
