As a Global External Sourcing (GES) Supply Chain Coordinator / Supply Planner in Wilmington, DE, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. Global External Sourcing (GES) is accountable for sourcing and supply of externally manufactured products into the AstraZeneca network. We are a Process-Centric Organization with a high focus on cross-functional teamwork.

The successful candidate will be hired at either a Supply Chain Coordinator or a Supply Planner in line with skills, experience, and capabilities.

As a GES Supply Chain Coordinator/Supply Planner you will have the operational responsibility for supply from one or more suppliers and the associated customers. The work is executed in a global, high-paced environment, with a strong focus on cross-functional collaboration. The nature of the role requires the ability to be flexible and constantly prioritize, and make assessments on where time is best spent. You have the authority to make operational decisions with suppliers/customers that ensure the timely supply of product, whilst maximizing efficiencies for the business.

The key to success is communication, and a passion for building, maintaining and develop customer relations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operationally coordinate supply of products, in alignment with our customer’s demand and agreed stock levels, following the process for the agreed supply method.
  • Process customer orders, raising purchase orders to suppliers in line with contractual requirements and receipting stock on delivery from suppliers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with suppliers/customers regarding demand, supplier’s ability to meet demand and day-to-day delivery plan.
  • Responsible for the accurate maintenance of systems master data within a given portfolio
  • Responsible for accurately measuring and reporting key performance indicators.
  • Lead and participate in Practical Problem Solving and Continuous Improvements teams.
  • Ensure to deliver consistency with the GES supply management framework i.e. one way of working across the organization regardless of geographic location or portfolio.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree - A degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is preferred, equivalent experience without a four (4) year college degree will be taken into account.

Required:

  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Globally and culturally aware
  • Understanding of different supply methods 
  • Comfortable in defining new processes and seeking to continuously improve existing processes
  • Able to rapidly adapt to a constantly changing environment

Preferred:

  • Minimum of two (2) years' in Supply Chain Environment (Manufacturing, Planning) preferred
  • Experience in participating in the S&OP process preferred
  • Commercial experience is preferred
  • SAP ERP (MRP) knowledge is preferred
  • CMO Experience preferred
