As a Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist - Respiratory Specialty inNew Bedford,MA (includingFall River,Falmouth,Raynham)you'llplay a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives.
AstraZeneca holds a unique position in respiratory disease, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), with a range of differentiated potential medicines in development by bringing to bearnovel combinations,biologicsand devices. The pipeline also has a number of promising assets in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases within areas such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, systemiclupusand rheumatoid arthritis.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
You will develop superior product and disease state knowledge and effectively educate and engage healthcare professionals in dialogue about clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing forappropriate patients. You will function independently with a high degree of salesproficiencyto drive sales performance and ensure sales forecasts and assigned budgets meet or exceed therapeutic and territory expectations. You will successfully complete training requirements, including product examinations.
By developing andmaintainingin-depth knowledge of market, demographic, and managed care informationrelativeto your assigned sales territory. You will be able to work with your Commercial Business Director and District Sales Manager to develop a local strategy and business plan to generate recognizable increasesofsales in your territory. You will capitalize on formulary approvals and other opportunities through effectiveimplementation of the Strategic Targeting Plans by using a wide variety of promotional, personnel resources and analytical tools to enhance effectiveness in assigned sales territory, based on local assessment of customer needs. You will provide special education to healthcare providers throughappropriate programsthat fall within AstraZeneca's ethical guidelines. Work with other Pharmaceutical Sales Specialists around commonobjectivesto coordinate selling efforts.
Essential Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree
• At least two years of documented, full-time, successful pharmaceutical sales OR 3 yrs. sales experience in scientific/clinical/healthcare environment ORdemonstratedexperience & knowledge within healthcare ecosystems
• A valid driver's license and safe driving record
• (NOTE - For Internal applicants) Required to have met PSS Level (Level 2) at time of application
Desired Requirements:
• Knowledge of the medical, healthcare or pharmacy industry and skills in clinical
• Experience calling on Respiratory Specialist such as Pulmonologist and Allergists.
• Experience calling on health systems and large group practices
•Demonstratedeffective leadership,organizationand interpersonal skills
•Demonstratedjudgment and decision-making capability
• Be results oriented withdemonstratedtime management skills
• Ability to learn, analyze,understandand convey complex information
• Respiratory Sales experience

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $107,172.00 -$160,758.00. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles.Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
