Global/US Insights & Forecasting Director-Tozorakimab LCM
The Global / US Forecasting & Insight Director is expected to provide leadership and strategic direction to deliver competitive advantages through the application of end-to-end insights, analytics, and forecasts across both the Global markets to support AstraZeneca’s industry-leading AstraZeneca pipeline. Our mission as a team is to accelerate business impact through insights and capability transformation. To achieve this, the Global Insights & Forecasting team is tasked with delivering excellence in market research, customer and competitor insights, analytics, and forecasting.
In addition to strong analytical and forecasting skills, the Global Forecasting Lead should have excellent communication skills with a demonstratedtrack recordof effective business partnership asdemonstratedby material business impact andinfluencing. This position may berequiredto manage contractors and vendors to complete projects butwill have no direct reports. The candidate will alsobe requiredto continuously evaluate new quantitative analytics methods, technologies, and datasets.
This role works closely with Therapy Area Commercial, CI, Finance, Commercial Excellence, Medical, Market Access and Pricing, and other senior business partners throughout theorganisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that interpretation of core market research is generating, actionable, differentiating insights
Specific projects will include positioning, HCP and patient segmentations, unbranded and branded lexicon and message testing, creative concept testing, target patient identification, and demand studies
Lead all primary researchin accordance withinternal AstraZeneca compliance policies
Summarize and present findings across multiple communication platforms; be able to “tell the story” tosenior collaborators
Champion the use of local customer insight in strategic and resourcing decisions across the business
Collect,assessand deliver global and regional brand performance metrics
Partner with the Brand Team and Commercial Excellence team to develop and track KPIs aligned to strategic drivers
Construct Global long-term patient-based and US short-termTRx/NBRxforecast models that harness credible and ambitious data inputs synthesized from a variety of primary and secondary sources, are benchmarked against internal and external analogs, and coordinated with Global and key markets
Summarize and confidently present forecasts, including approach,methodologyand assumptions, through various communication channels and be able to “tell the story” tosenior commercial and clinical stakeholders
Ensure objectivity and robustness in the forecast by identifying the right data sources.Apply industry-leading modeling approaches and conduct sensitivity analyses on key variables. This assists in managing opportunities and risks while promoting the integration of regional client insights.
Partner with Brand Analytics as well as with data scientists elsewhere in the business to employ real world data for insights generation to understand physician and patient behavior better and drive strategic implementation within the brand
Accountable for the guidance and alignment of the asset/brand forecast and related assumptions, collaborating closely with the Forecasting leader
Lead commercial assessment activities (including qual/quant treatment pattern and product profile test research, claims analysis, and patient research) for business cases for LCM investment decisions
Instill a culture of continuous improvement, testing, and deployment of new capabilities for the business
Required experience:
5+yearsanalytical experience in theBioPharmaceuticalsindustry
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Commercial, or Scientific related field of study
Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative market research across different stakeholder groups (e.g., HCPs, patients, and payers)
Experience in building, deploying, and embedding forecasting capabilities into an organization
Strong understanding of primary market research, advanced analytics, and competitive intelligence. Primary market research experience preferred.
Multiple-year Pharma experience, preferably in Global or ex-US, making recommendations on major drivers of product success, and advising on drug development candidate process and Health Care environment
Experience applying a range of analytics involving standard data in the Pharmaceutical Industrye.g.IQVIA (MIDAS, DDD NPA, MonthlyXponent), claims data (Truven,Marketscan), epidemiological data, etc.
Strong business acumen, critical thinking and understanding of sales and marketing business practices
Ability to influence laterally and vertically
Ability to lead multiple tasks/assignments to demanding deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills as well as teamwork abilities
Comfortable working in a matrix environment
Strong written and verbal communication
Occasional travel may berequired

Educational requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
An advanced degree is preferred (Master’s, MBA, or PhD)
5+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical / Biotech / Healthcare analytics or secondary data analysis and forecasting

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $194,500- $291,800. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
