The role sits on the Global Category Team focused on the commercial categories and reporting to the Senior Director of Sales and Marketing Procurement. This role will partner with the business focusing on the Media category and will collaborate within the Global Procurement Network to plan and lead the global category strategy and leading execution to assure delivery of value back to the business.
Strategy:
Accountable for owning the evolution and implementation of the Global Media category strategy to assure alignment with dynamic business requirements while driving value in the form of savings, speed to market, process simplicity, above market supplier performance, sustainability and innovation.
Accountable for the global category strategy and leading the procurement network this person will assure strategic sourcing, supplier collaboration, supplier performance management, contract and risk management and sustainability efforts are fit for purpose and optimized for innovation.
Business & Supplier Engagement:
Accountable for maintaining expert knowledge of respective U.S. and ex-U.S. markets, competitors and innovations within the Media supply market
Develop/maintain category strategy including sourcing, contracting, buy/pay channels and supplier management approach
Develop an extensive understanding of current and future business needs with senior level key stakeholders to optimize business performance, develop future improvement opportunities and resolve issues as necessary
Build positive trusted advisor relationships with stakeholders by proactively developing and implementing value add solutions that address their needs and our ability to realize Ambition 2030
Facilitate implementation of procurement change initiatives within category and across the enterprise to improve business performance
Foster positive relationships with suppliers to achieve efficient pricing, service quality and resolution of contractual issues as necessary
Collaborate with the Contracting and Sourcing teams to assure competitive sourcing events, contract negotiations and supplier performance discussions are being delivered efficiently and with value
Partner with key suppliers to review Media related savings initiatives and report to Finance team
Instill the highest standards of compliance and ethics consistently across AZ
Essential
Extensive knowledge of the U.S. media landscape
Proven ability to lead and manage global procurement networks
Bachelor’s degree preferably in a business related or marketing discipline
8-10 years of Procurement experience, preferably in Media
Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical industry
Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, negotiation, analytical and project management skills
Proven leadership experience and ability to work independently with minimal mentor
Desirable
Understanding of multiple aspects of procurement process
Master’s degree in a business related or marketing discipline
