Consumer Marketing Director - Omnichannel

Omnichannel marketing is a customer centric approach that allows AstraZeneca to interact with our Healthcare Physicians (HCPs) and Consumers seamlessly across all available channels, delivering a more integrated, informed and connected customer experience – one that drives values for both AstraZeneca and our customers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Consumer Marketing Director is a key position within the CVRM (Cardiovascular Renal Metabolic ) Commercial Marketing Team, and reports directly into the Sr. Director, Consumer Strategy - CVRM. In this role, you will contribute to CVRM attaining leadership in groundbreaking healthcare through omnichannel marketing, a deep understanding of customer needs and channel expertise.
The Consumer Marketing Director will work across the CVRM Brand Teams to integrate omnichannel marketing into brand plans and ways of working specific to Consumer needs. The person in the role will be responsible for leading the creation of a holistic experience for our customers by taking brand objectives and developing the strategic approach using omnichannel communications and tactics to achieve those objectives. In turn, this role works directly with the Senior Director, Consumer Strategy - CVRM, to present the strategy and solution to brand leadership and to secure buy-in.
This individual will co-create and direct the deployment of approved strategies, including definition, design, execution and measurement of omnichannel strategies. This role will lead insight generation to drive ongoing optimization of brand campaigns and continual alignment of plans & strategies with brand objectives, goals and budgets.
The Director will develop strategic partnerships and innovation for marketed and late-stage products through creative thinking and ideation that transcends traditional pharmaceutical marketing and sales approaches. This role will bring externally sourced innovation that is pivotal to AstraZeneca’s success in improving patient experiences, while growing revenues and market share. The Director will be a visionary that can execute plans to design, develop and oversee programs, and the external suppliers/partners used for delivery, that result in the overall growth and development of practical innovation across the US business. The Director will lead exploration into areas adjacent to but outside traditional business boundaries to source unconventional, yet practical, approaches to uncover high value opportunities and to convert them into new and sustainable business models. Will require a dual focus exploring the intersection of multiple emerging trends and defining how the convergence of two or more technologies or capabilities might satisfy powerful latent patient needs.
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the following:
Strategy & Execution
Develop a robust pipeline of disruptive innovation that drives incremental and profitable growth. Provide thought leadership to inspire greatness, divergent thinking, and ongoing inspiration for business building platforms for sustained growth.
Lead the strategic definition, design, implementation and measurement of a consumer marketing solution that will improve the patient experience (CX) and support brand objectives.
Lead the planning and execution of the omnichannel strategy across digital channels and media platforms to drive interest and demand.
Designs omnichannel measurement plans, selecting KPIs and setting goals, targets and measurement milestones aligned to business and capability building objectives.
Cross Functional Collaboration
Effectively works across the Commercial interface to successfully build relationships and drive performance collectively through all marketing and sales channels -- includes HCP and Consumer marketing teams, supporting digital and technology teams, insights & analytics teams, creative agencies, digital agencies, media agencies, and other vendor partners.
Leads internal and external stakeholder engagement to assess the business need, identify opportunities, and implement and measure solutions.
Successfully partners with vendors and agencies to ensure the strategy, approaches, and requirements for omnichannel execution are understood and interpreted appropriately for quality delivery and execution.
Leads insight generation efforts and makes informed optimization recommendations to business partners.
Bachelor's Degree required; preferably in business, marketing or the sciences
5+ years Marketing and Promotions experience, with digital platforms, including multi and omnichannel campaigns
Experience leading brand strategy and executing against it
Demonstrated experience in working within cross-functional business units essential
Strong financial acumen with the ability to assess and drive results
Strong understanding of local healthcare system pricing and reimbursement
Successful experience leading change transformation
Experience with technologies and services that shape the current healthcare environment (Health IT, Point of Care communication, Digital Health)
Advanced Degree in business, marketing, or the sciences;
8+ years of Pharmaceutical or Healthcare experience; preferably in a related industry
5+ years of Pharmaceutical Marketing and Promotions experience, with digital platforms, including multi and omnichannel campaigns
Clinical experience in Cardiovascular area & Diabetes experience is strongly preferred
Experience in Market Access/Managed Markets
Experience in Insight/Market Research
Experience across product life cycle (emerging, launch, in-line, mature)
