Position: Associate Director, Global S2C Excellence Procurement (Line Manager) 

Location: Warsaw, Poland

Hybrid Model: 3 days per week from office, 2 remote per week

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Associate Director and Line Manager will manage and lead team of Procurement (Senior) Specialists and (Associate) Procurement Managers to deliver pre-defined business objectives and SLA’s in area of Change Management, Sourcing and Contracting processes. Within area of responsibility, takes full accountability for successful delivery of change management related projects, contracting and sourcing events accordingly to agreed split of responsibilities within the Procurement Operating Model, compliance with existing procedures within the given remit of categories. 

The role reports directly into the HUB/Director in Global Source to Contract Excellence (GSCE). The role will carry responsibility for ongoing performance management and improvement of S2C SET team and delivering own activities. Through a well-developed understanding of Sourcing, Contracting and Change Management approaches, systems and tools, the Associate Director will have responsibility for ensuring rigour and application of the best practises to all change related, sourcing and contracting activities within their team. 

Typical Accountabilities

Leadership:

  • Accountable for managing the team, resource allocation, and team goals targets through direct reports 
  • Establishes and develops team by attracting right calibre of talents from within and outside the organization and providing appropriate opportunities and support. 
  • Defines goals, sets and manages performance standards for the team able to deliver procurement projects to time, cost and quality standards. 
  • Leads, Coaches, Inspires, motivates and develops professional aspects of Procurement knowledge 
  • Responsible for regular development discussions with direct reports, recommends development activities to ensure constant learning 
  • Promotion of working culture where transparency, empowerment and inclusion are integral parts 
  • Develop plans for team and oversees its implementation to ensure the company's needs are met 
  • Ensures compliance to company procurement policies and tools, performs regular monitoring of team activities 

Change Management:

  • Undertakes projects or initiatives to improve performance, seize opportunities or address key challenges 
  • Supports the change to the current Operating Model 
  • Drives Source to Contract process improvement and optimisation (process steps, internal ways of working, legal support model, documents and templates etc.) 

Partnering & Collaboration:

  • Relationship building and liaising closely with AZ’s Procurement Global, Regional and Local Teams 
  • Ensures right visibility of the team performance and deliverables by regular engagement with stakeholders within area of responsibility 
  • Reports team deliverables, workload, supports in prioritisation activities 
  • Ensures adequate workload balance within own team and collaboration with others S2C teams 
  • Responsible for managing the quality of the deliverables within the defined SET Team & provide necessary guidance and support 
  • Responsible for S2C project delivery only if required

Skills, Experience, Education

Essential:

  • Bachelor/ Master’s Degree (Business) 
  • Proven skills of the stakeholder’s engagement and management and building relations 3 years of experience in the multinational company 
  • Experience in complex, global end to end sourcing & contracting processes 
  • Project management 
  • Result oriented behaviour 
  • Communication skills 
  • Track of records in delivery of improvement initiatives 
  • Additional language(s) is/are an advantage 
  • Written and verbal fluency in English 

Desirable:

  • Line management experience 
  • Pharmaceutical industry 
  • Experience in respective team categories – R&D
