Senior Scientist, Mass Spectrometry, Early Oncology

Join our Boston R&D chemistry team as a Senior Scientist, where you'll use your expertise in small-molecule mass spectrometry to analyze a wide range of drug-like small molecules, linkers, payloads, and new modalities using UHPLC-MS techniques. As an integral member of our Analytical, Structural, and Chromatography (ASC) team, you'll work on method development, maintain instruments at peak performance, and bring in relevant new analyses to support chemistry projects. This is a hands-on laboratory position and requires you to work onsite. Accountabilities:

As a Senior Scientist, you will be part of our high performing lab-based team in Oncology R&D. You will perform hands-on experimentation to analyze and quantify compounds within challenging timelines. You will collaborate across disciplines and develop bespoke methods as needed to help drive portfolio delivery. Your understanding of mass spectrometry within a drug discovery environment will be augmented via collaborative knowledge sharing and in-house training. You will also assist with the site transition to Kendall Square, including planning and installations.

Essential Skills/Experience:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in analytical chemistry or related field with 8+ years of industry experience, or Ph.D. in analytical chemistry with 3+ years of industry experience, in roles that focused on use of mass spectrometry analysis and data interpretation skills.

- Solid knowledge of mass spectrometry and reverse-phase chromatographic techniques, including method development and instrument troubleshooting.

- Detailed understanding of the use of analytical techniques and data interpretation to solve complex scientific questions.

- Demonstrated lab-based experience running LC-MS single-quad, triple quad, and high-resolution instrumentation for analysis of small molecule compounds.

- Strict adherence to laboratory safety and operating procedures in handling all new chemical entities, and particularly OEB 5 and OEB 6 compounds.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to communicate complex information clearly.

- First-rate time management skills, forward planning, and focus on delivery.

- Steady performance, demonstrating values and behaviors, and strong interpersonal skills are a must.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

- Hardware experience with Waters and Agilent

- Software experience with MassLynx, MassHunter, and Chemstation.

- Knowledge of pharmaceutical drug discovery
