Operations Finance Manager (18-month secondment/FTC)
Location: Warsaw
Hybrid Model: 3 days per week from office
Operations Finance Manager will play an essential role in supporting the Associate Director – Manufacturing Accounting in the delivery of the scorecard goals and objectives. Additionally acting as the primary contact for the CFO, Finance Business Partners and functional leaders, the role connects GFS with Embedded Finance, providing clarity, challenge and strategic financial guidance
Person in the role may be required to: use own expertise to lead or contribute to special projects across Finance and in the team, coach and mentor Analysts, work closely with Associate Director to deliver timely and accurate tasks, provide quality financial analysis and insightful commentaries to the business, including reporting for the planning cycles and to develop and improve those same processes over time.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Line Management
• Recruit, lead, motivate, and develop a team of manufacturing analysts, ensuring high‑quality delivery and compliance with global processes.
• Hold regular development discussions to support continuous learning, skill-building and career growth.
• Ensure strong understanding of customer needs and business drivers across the team.
• Build a culture of transparency, empowerment, inclusion, and strong collaboration.
• Promote team visibility, proactive communication, and effective cross‑team support.
2. Coordinating of MEC, Reporting, Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the delivery of accurate, timely month end financials with clear insights and recommended actions.
- Challenge and validate forecasts to ensure sound assumptions and strategic alignment.
- Provide high quality financial analysis that supports informed decisions by senior leaders.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to provide analytical and strategic support during planning cycles and business reviews.
3. Other Responsibilities
- Support business decisions through timely, high‑quality analysis and responses to ad hoc requests.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards and maintain strong reporting controls for SOx and FCF.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate processes, supporting productivity initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, capacity management, and rollout of global tools and solutions.
- Participate and reinforce the third phase of GFS, the 3P approach (people, processes, productivity) and the behaviour of the ‘HOW’
Essential Criteria
- Finance degree or equivalent experience, supported by strong technical and analytical foundations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Controlling, FP&A, or related areas, with proven end to end process ownership.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to simplify complex financial topics and communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across global, diverse, and matrixed teams, including without formal authority.
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple and evolving priorities for both self and team.
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills, operating with a high degree of autonomy and sound judgment.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP, BW, Excel, and PowerPoint, with openness to digital solutions, automation, and new technologies.
- Commitment to continuous learning, personal growth, and developing others, aligned with GFS Third Phase principles (3Ps) and Central Team “HOW” behaviours, and demonstrated through past proactive, team focused initiatives.
Desirable Criteria
- Former experience in the pharmaceutical industry or GBS organisation.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a dynamic, high-performance environment.
- Prior people‑management or supervisory experience.
- Experience working in a complex matrix environment.
- High emotional intelligence, resilience, and ability to drive collaboration and process improvements.
