AstraZeneca is seeking a Junior Diagnostic Biomarker Manager to support the development and implementation of national diagnostic strategies that enable timely, high-quality testing and companion diagnostics for our Oncology portfolio. This role partners closely with the Oncology Diagnostic Lead and cross‑functional teams (Marketing, Market Access, Medical, Sales) to integrate diagnostics into brand plans, build external partnerships, and drive testing excellence that improves patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Strategy & Brand Integration: Support the Oncology Diagnostic Lead in shaping the national diagnostic strategy for current and future indications, ensuring alignment with the global Dx strategy and seamless integration into Brand Plans.
- Planning & Enablement: Develop and deliver diagnostic plans, educational materials, and support messages aligned to testing strategies; provide tools for Diagnostics Liaisons and KAMs to enable field execution.
- Budget Management: Manage assigned budgets, monitor deviations versus plan, and propose contingency actions to maintain delivery.
- Education & Engagement: Deliver diagnostics‑related educational initiatives (meetings, exhibitions, congresses/symposia, digital activities) in collaboration with Field Force and Medical.
- External Leadership & KOL Interface: Act as the AZ point of reference for KOLs across the diagnostic pathway (pathologists, molecular biologists, geneticists, oncologists) and relevant national scientific societies.
- Client/Account Strategy: Design client/account segmentation strategies that enable effective field action planning and local execution.
- Quality Assurance: Drive implementation of quality assurance programs for testing methods and interpretation to improve consistency and reliability.
- Insights & Performance: Interpret market insights to inform tactics; support improvement plans for diagnostics‑related brand performance and Dx KPIs.
- Launch Excellence: Ensure in‑market companion diagnostics/testing readiness and excellence for all assigned product indication launches.
- Evidence Utilization: Leverage diagnostics‑related evidence (medical evidence, RWE, epidemiology) for education and identify evidence gaps to inform global/local plans.
- Partnerships & Ecosystem Building: Develop collaborative partnerships with diagnostic companies, lab networks, KOLs, and HCPs to remove barriers to testing across the patient journey.
- Capability Building: Serve as a subject matter expert for scientific societies and KOLs; build diagnostic expertise across internal teams (Marketing, Medical, Sales, Market Access & Government Affairs) and act as an educational resource for colleagues.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Engage, lead, and partner with the office‑based cross‑functional team on all diagnostics‑related activities to ensure launch readiness and optimal therapy launch.
Skills and Capabilities
- Oncology & Diagnostics Expertise: Solid scientific and disease area knowledge in oncology; strong understanding of the market‑specific diagnostic/testing environment and broader oncology ecosystem.
- Patient Journey Insight: Granular knowledge of patient demographics, testing experience, and pain points across different testing options along the pathway.
- Influencing & Relationship Building: Ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders, present credibility, and build trustful, mutually beneficial relationships.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Proven team player who contributes fully, shares information, and links insights across functions.
- Results Orientation & Analytical Strength: Drives results with very good analytical skills, coupled with the ability to see broader impact and outcomes; customer‑oriented mindset.
- Communication & Tools: Excellent communication and stakeholder management; good command of English.

Essential Criteria
- Education: Undergraduate degree, preferably in life sciences.
- Experience:
- 1+ years in oncology.
- 1+ years in pathology/molecular diagnostics market.
- 1+ years in a field‑based role.
- Project management experience.
- Capabilities: Strong teamwork and collaboration; strategic and analytical skills; excellent communication; fluency in English.
Polish fluent oral and written
Valid EU Diving License – B category
Desirable Criteria
- Advanced Education: PhD in a relevant science field (e.g., Molecular Medicine, Genetics).
- Broader Experience: Exposure to a broad range of oncology diagnostics, pathology, and therapeutic marketing; experience in both Marketing and Medical roles.
