Finance Intern in Controlling Team - 12 months Career Starter Program

Location: Warsaw

Hybrid Model: 3 days per week from office

Global Finance Services(GFS) is at the heart of the AZ Finance function. We are accountable to the AZ Group for the design and delivery of high quality, simple to operate transactional finance processes which, combined with exceptional business analysis and insight, enable our customers to focus on AZ’s strategic priorities.  

Your core accountabilities will include:

  • Active participation in Month End Close processes supporting different operational tasks of the Controlling team
  • BS reconciliations and basic variance analysis
  • Processing of Journal Entries
  • Preparation of basic accruals calculations and supporting documentation
  • Prepare data for analysis of Balance Sheet and P&L balances (Profit and Loss)
  • Performing internal controls, designed to prevent and mitigate key risks for the financials of the company
  • Prepare monthly reports to be used as base for the business’ requests and/or requirements
  • Cooperation with variety of stakeholders within GFS, local finance, R2R & subledger teams

Essential for the role:

  • Willingness to work and develop in finance
  • Pursuing a degree in Finance/Business/Mathematics/Economy or similar
  • Financial knowledge
  • Experience with Excel
  • English Language proficiency (written and spoken)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical skills & eye for detail

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience in financial department, knowledge of any accounting or planning systems (e.g. SAP)

The internship will last 12 months. 

Please remember that we work in a hybrid scheme, be prepared to work partially office based (minimum 3 days per week).
