Business Intelligence Manager (Fixed term contract 18 months) – Nordic Marketing Company

To achieve our bold ambitions for 2030, we are now looking for an impactful and analytical Business Intelligence Manager to join our Advanced Analytics and Insights team.

This position is initially a Fixed term contract for a period of 18 months, with the opportunity to become permanent. You can be located in any of our Nordic offices, and you are expected to be on-site three days per week.

What you will do

As a Business Intelligence Manager, you will transform business and market data into strategic insights to drive profitable, sustainable growth for the Nordic Marketing Company.

You will ensure the delivery of timely and high-quality insights, continuous management of performance metrics, and updated rolling sales forecasts of the current and future AZ brand portfolio to inform commercial decision-making.

In addition, it is key that this role leads the adoption of new ways of working with analytics tools, challenges and inspires the business, and fosters a data-driven culture across the Nordic Marketing Company.

You will report to the Nordic Head of Advanced Analytics & Insight and be part of the Innovation & Business Excellence (IBEX) function. You will be collaborating closely with teams within IBEX but also with cross-functional teams across the organization.

Your main responsibilities will include

  • Insight-driven forecasting: Build dynamic, rolling forecasts and scenarios using epidemiology data, market insights (e.g., launch uptake, sales trajectories, pricing and access changes, customer and market trends, competitor moves), leveraging advanced analytics and AI-assisted techniques where relevant.

  • Market and competitive intelligence: Generate competitive intelligence by integrating external data sources, market research and internal signals to deliver concise, reliable decision-ready insights.

  • Customer and patient journey insights: Provide evidence-based data to treatment and patient journey mapping, identifying friction points, access barriers, HCP behaviour shifts, to guide brand strategies.

  • Business cases: Develop robust business cases for various strategic brand decisions, such as tenders and pricing to continuously drive competitive advantage.

  • Sales force effectiveness: Perform analysis related to field force performance, including activity analytics, performance diagnostics, territory potential, resource allocation, incentive design to ensure optimal field force operations.

  • Performance analytics: Design standardized KPI frameworks from data to insight to action across the organization layers to ensure relevance. Drive implementation of automated KPI reporting in dashboards, enabling self-service for business users.

  • Commercial business partnering: Act as a trusted analytics business partner in Business Units, Franchise, and brand teams — translate complex business questions into analytics solutions, provide clear recommendations, highlight trade-offs, and quantify impact on objectives and KPIs. Challenge and inspire the Business Unit to foster a data-driven culture, lead the gathering of business requirements and upskill business users in leveraging new analytics solutions to drive data-driven decision-making.

  • Simplification and automation: Drive the simplification agenda by standardizing definitions, streamlining reporting, and automating repetitive analytics tasks to enhance accuracy, speed, and organizational effectiveness.

What you will bring

  • Education: M.Sc. in a relevant field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Data/Analytics, Marketing, Economics/Finance, Statistics or similar). Advanced coursework in analytics or AI is a plus.

  • Analytics and technical skills: Strong quantitative abilities with experience in statistical analysis, forecasting, and predictive modelling. Proficiency with Power BI and data visualization and practical experience with Python or R, SQL is a plus.

  • Business acumen: Thorough understanding of marketing and commercial insights in pharmaceuticals. Prior experience in business intelligence, marketing, sales analytics, or portfolio analysis in specialty care is desirable.

  • Communication: Excellent English, written and spoken; able to translate complex findings into clear recommendations stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Ways of working: Skilled in collaborating across Nordic organizations, operating in agile/hybrid environments, and managing multiple priorities under time pressure.
