As and Equipment specialist you will be part of the site engineering team, you will plan and coordinate coordinate specialist engineering activities across a portfolio and be a go-to technical leader for automation and process equipment. You will shape how assets are designed, started up, stabilized, and continuously improved, so our manufacturing areas are ready to deliver with speed, quality, and reliability.
You will collaborate closely with production, quality, digital, and suppliers to solve problems at the root, deploy standards, and translate data into better decisions. Your leadership will help set pace and rigor in an environment that values both bold ideas and disciplined execution.
Accountabilities:
- Manages or provides technical support to project execution, start up and site operations readiness with focus on automation system management.
- Acts as technical owner of specific area within engineering function and provide lead expertise in the life cycle management of all on site automation system. Provides technical consultancy to stake-holders.
- Manages and accomplishes project activities from planning through implementation and provides functional expertise to project owners. Capable in managing small teams on need basis.
- Identifies, evaluates, recommends and selects technical options to be adopted from global or industry standards and aligned with local business priorities and objectives
- Keeps own knowledge of standards and new developments up to date
- Takes ownership in managing asset life cycle for equipment and engineering systems to maintain functionality, conformity, efficiency and optimised cost of ownership
- Actively leads “hands on” trouble shooting activities resolving functional problems and translates learning to standard operations.
- Applies and effectively drives problem solving attitude by using lean framework and data analytics
- Gathers and analyses data related to establishing and maintaining business processes and procedures
- Prepares technical governance documentation and asset status reports, including but not limited to forecasting, alignment to key performance indicators, technical analytics, recommendations for improvement
- Leads preparations of investment applications, business - cases with short / long term value and benefits
- Co-ordinates resources within the operational teams, project teams or across site to drive value outcome
- Ensure compliance of own work and work of others with cGMP, SHE standards and local laws
Specific Responsibilities/ Tasks
- Technical Ownership: Serve as the technical owner for defined areas of process equipment and systems, providing lead expertise and consultancy to collaborators to optimize performance, efficiency and reliability.
- Coordinate project activities throughout the entire process. Apply functional expertise and direct small teams when necessary to achieve timely, on-budget results.
- Start-Up and Site Readiness: Prepare manufacturing areas for start-up, ensuring operational readiness, robust procedures, and smooth handover into standard operations.
- Operational asset management: Own assets and engineering system from start to regular operations. Manages equipment health with suppliers using advanced data analytics and continuous improvements and innovation.
- Technical advancements: Identify, evaluate, and recommend technical options aligned with global or industry standards and local business priorities to increase quality, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
- Knowledge Leadership: Stay ahead of standard methodologies and new developments; translate learning into updated standards and ways of working to continuously improve operations.
- Asset Lifecycle Management: Own the lifecycle of equipment and engineering systems to guarantee performance, compliance, efficiency, and optimized cost of ownership.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- Mastery in understanding of principles and concepts in technical area of engineering
- Experience in project management
- Sound understanding of cGMP, SHE standards, Standard Operating Procedures and local regulatory standards
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Engineering graduate qualification
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry
- Managing small groups of people
