In this role, you will safeguard patients by transforming data into compliant action, supporting local Marketing Companies and collaborating closely with our international patient safety network.

You will serve as the primary liaison between local teams and worldwide Patient Safety operations, managing the intake, processing, and reporting of Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs). Trusted to take ownership and move at pace, you will help shape how we work by improving processes, strengthening compliance, and enabling faster, better decisions. Accountabilities:

  • ICSR Intake and Processing: Own the end-to-end intake, assessment, and timely processing of ICSRs from clinical, post-marketing, literature, and systematically gathered data sources, ensuring accurate data capture and compliant submissions.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Support and coordinate responses to Health Authority queries related to ICSRs and patient safety, maintaining clear documentation, traceability, and timely responses.
  • Contribute to managing procedural documents and deliver AE/PV training to internal teams and third-party suppliers. Manage quality incidents, implement corrective and preventive actions, and maintain continuous review and examination readiness.
  • Data Reconciliation and Screening: Perform reconciliations with internal and external partners to ensure PV data accuracy; conduct periodic screening of regulatory authority databases for adverse events; perform literature searches for the local product portfolio as required.
  • Product Quality and Security Identification: Detect and route product quality complaints and product security issues, ensuring all relevant safety data are captured and appropriately brought up.
  • Collaborator Mentorship: Provide patient safety mentorship to local functions (Marketing, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs) on issue management for key products, risk management activities, action plans, data gathering, and monitoring of outcomes.
  • External Partner Oversight: Support external service providers to meet company and local regulatory PV requirements, ensuring clear expectations and effective collaboration.
  • Follow-up and Documentation: Conduct manual follow-up using approved scripts and resources; ensure robust filing, archiving, and retrieval of patient safety documentation.
  • Training and Systems Enablement: Complete all required patient safety training and maintain access to relevant systems, including safety databases, regulatory and quality systems, HR, and commercial databases.
  • Knowledge Stewardship: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national regulations, global and local procedures and guidance, product marketed status and reference documents, and any conditions, obligations, or commitments related to the safe use of AstraZeneca products.
  • Continuous Improvement and Projects: Contribute to PV aspects of organised data collection, digital and social media activities, and other external collaborations; participate in ad-hoc local projects that enhance operational excellence.
