Data Management Senior/Associate Analyst

Global Business Service Data Office (GDO) mission is to provide accessible, robust data services within Finance to make it a work class data driven function contributing to AstraZeneca’s ability to deliver life-changing medicines. As an operational arm of GBS Data Office, the Data Management Team (DMT) is responsible for data maintenance in the systems of record within Finance. This covers the creating, amending, and blocking of core master data objects to support our business processes and reporting solution. The team is offering global support across geographies to response to requests and to process them in a timely manner and efficient way.
As a successful role holder, you will be supporting the master data operations in Data Management Team Kuala Lumpur operations to ensure data maintained is accurate, complete, and up-to-date in supporting smooth business operations. This role reports directly to DMT Manager. In Data Management Team, we manage approximately 20 different dictionaries, for 170 AstraZeneca subsidiaries in 5 SAP instances. Each month we manage around 100,000 transactions on data of vendors, customers, credit limits, cost elements and alike.
Main Responsibilities
Deliver professional and consistent service for assigned master data areas (Example: vendor master data), supporting resolution of local country inquiries and ensuring accurate, timely processing of all master data requests within SLA.
Support the manager in overseeing Data Management Team performance, including:
Monitoring daily service delivery and managing priorities.
Maintaining SLA compliance and escalating exceptions requiring special handling.
Reviewing KPI metrics, providing commentary and root cause analysis for discussion with the manager.
Lead and support BAU operational issue resolution, including analysis of work items, investigation of issues, and coordination of resolutions with appropriate supervision.
Drive process improvement and productivity initiatives, including supporting system, transaction, and process changes, and preparing, reviewing, and maintaining DMT process documentation.
Participate in and support sub‑projects and ad‑hoc initiatives.
Support team effectiveness and people development, including:
Supporting new joiners to successfully settle into their roles.
Enabling existing team members to adapt to changes in processes, tools, systems, or team structures.
Collaborate effectively with internal customers and stakeholders to deliver performance, implement best practices, and ensure a strong understanding of local business requirements.
Ensure compliance with financial controls and governance, operating in line with FCF/SOX, Financial Controls Framework, and Audit requirements.
Essential Requirements
You have a Degree in Business or any related field.
You have 3-5 years working experience in Account Payables/ Account Receivables or solid understanding of master data.
Sound accounting fundamentals and data analysis knowledge.
Proficient in the use of SAP system. Understanding SAP dictionaries especially: Vendors, Customers and Bank branches. Added advantage if have understanding on Chart of accounts, Cost Elements and Cost Objects.
Good communication skill and able to communicate effectively in English.
Knowledge in visual basic and macros is an added advantage.
