Contract Assurance & Performance is a capability in assessing AstraZeneca’s suppliers’ compliance in financial and commercial terms of their respective contracts. This approach forms part of AstraZeneca’s supplier governance process. The primary goal of review is measured by the visibility and transparency they provide, enabling valuable insight beyond what the organisation already knows of its business relationships, and by putting the appropriate and factually accurate data such as in the hands of business and procurement decision makers, to sustain and improve the value derived from their extended enterprise.

Role Summary

This role will play an integral role by performing contract compliance reviews. S/he will be responsible for working with a cross-functional team of professionals to evaluate, document, implement and make recommendations on processes by planning and execution of contract compliance reviews on suppliers and providing data to support audit findings. A successful candidate will have or be able to quickly develop analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews contract terms and conditions to understand obligations in a contract and areas of risk
  • Performs data analysis to generate insights and to quantify cost recovery opportunities through identification of non-compliance to contractual terms by a third party
  • Performs process interviews at the third party to understand their key processes and controls
  • Identifies cost saving or other improvement opportunities within the contractual relationship with the third party
  • Interacts with third party and internal stakeholders to provide updates on third party compliance status, manages requests for information and follow-up on projects until completion
  • Presents analysis, recommendations and creative solutions to resolve issues
  • Conveys complex information in a concise and professional manner

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Commerce or equivalent with at least 5 years’ relevant experience, working experience in Big 4 or in assurance/audit will have an added advantage.
  • Must have strong knowledge in auditing techniques, data analysis and analysis of contractual risks.
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Gutsy to challenge when things are not done according to AstraZeneca’s values and be part of a solution to resolve issues and support upholding of our values.
  • Highly curious with strong desire to discover new learnings.
  • Work well in a VUCA (vulnerable, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) environment.
