Location: New Haven, CT (flexible schedule, 60% onsite required)
Position Summary:
Alexion is seeking a Business Continuity & Resilience Lead that will conduct our newly revamped Business Continuity Program. Under the direction of the Operational Excellence & Business Strategy Lead, the candidate will help design, develop, execution and maintenance of business impact assessments, business continuity plans, and emergency response plans for operational resilience across the enterprise to ensure Alexion’s ability to deliver life-changing therapies to our patients. The purpose of this role is to ensure critical business processes are properly identified across the organization and plans are created to ensure these processes remain available during a disruption.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Develop plans, policies, and implement strategies to mitigate the impact of potential adverse conditions such as natural disasters, acts of terror/war, cyberattacks, epidemics/pandemics, etc. on company operations.
Partner with Crisis Management & Incident Management teams to ensure critical processes maintain continuity during disruptions.
Work with a wide range of business teams across the globe to conduct business impact assessments, identify critical services, define recovery objectives, and map critical dependencies.
Work with business teams to develop strategies and proposals for mitigating business continuity risks and escalating critical risk to the enterprise risk committee.
Monitor and determine impact on recovery strategies and determine need for convening and or activation of response teams during a business disruption based on severity levels or other escalation triggers.
Facilitate recovery efforts during a major incident or crisis.
Maintain the enterprise crisis management plan and facilitate crisis tabletop exercises.
Facilitate business impact analysis and risk assessments to determine potential effects of an interruption to operations.
Ensure proper development of business continuity plans, procedures and associated roles needed to recover critical business functions.
Support the business to identify interdependencies as processes and systems merge with AstraZeneca.
Lead validation, maintenance, and testing of plans through training and exercises with increasing degrees of complexity.
Write after action reports for incidents and exercises; Track open action items to completion.
Tracking metrics in continuity-planning software to measure the organization’s level of resilience.
Maintain and continually enhance the business continuity planning software.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading Operation Resilience programs
Experience with Fusion Framework System, BCIC, Everbridge and ServiceNow
Proven ability to work in a global environment with various levels of maturity.
Ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders.
Candidates must have ability to communicate at executive level, both written and orally, through superior communication skills
Ability to prioritize projects and strong critical thinking skills.
Experience working with decision making, multi-tasking, and high stress situations.
Experience in the biotech/biopharmaceutical industry
Understanding of Project Management methodologies preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree Required.
DRI Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) preferred.
DRI Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) preferred.
