Introduction to role:

In this role, you will own the commercial impact for a set of priority therapies across respiratory, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, with new advances emerging in immunology and renal. You will develop access and adoption by aligning a clear territory plan with real-world customer needs, ensuring our medicines reach the patients who need them most. Working closely with cross-functional partners, you will bring scientific credibility together with well-adapted execution to deliver results that matter.

You will join a fast-moving, collaborative team that pairs rigorous evidence with practical, on-the-ground execution. Here, your judgment, pace and relationship-building will translate directly into improved patient outcomes and sustained business growth.

Accountabilities:

  • Sales Strategy Execution: Implement the territory sales strategy and plan of action based on company policies, translating portfolio priorities into clear, measurable activities.

  • Territory Performance Management: Supervise territory performance against objectives and initiate timely corrective actions to sustain momentum and deliver targets.

  • Product Enlistment and Access: Facilitate enlistment of recently launched and important products across hospitals and clinics to expand availability and accelerate uptake.

  • Insights on Industry and Rival Activity: Undertake methodical evaluation of industry patterns and rival movements to discover opportunities, shape positioning, and improve your territory plan.

  • Promotional Excellence: Participate in and carry out promotional programs that improve the visibility of products and support evidence-based decision-making with customers.

  • Customer Data Quality: Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer classification, databases and call records to drive precision targeting and effective follow-up.

  • Customer Trust and Compliance: Build trust and credibility with healthcare professionals through professionalism and consistent adherence to the AstraZeneca Code of Conduct.

  • Growth and Development: Identify areas for self-development and discuss developmental needs with your FLSM, building capabilities that elevate performance over time.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to implement sales strategy and tactics, plan of action in accordance with company policies.

  • Experience monitoring territory sales performance and initiating appropriate actions to meet objectives.

  • Experience facilitating enlistment of newly launched and key products in hospitals and clinics.

  • Ability to conduct market and competitor analysis to identify business opportunities.

  • Experience participating in promotional activity programs to increase product awareness.

  • Capability to update and maintain territory customer classification, database and call records continuously.

  • Demonstrated professionalism and adherence to the AstraZeneca Code of Conduct.

  • Commitment to self-development and to discussing developmental needs with the FLSM.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of the Pune healthcare ecosystem and established relationships with key hospitals, clinics and decision-makers.

  • Experience launching or accelerating adoption of specialty medicines in respiratory, cardiovascular/metabolic, immunology or renal therapy areas.

  • Proficiency with CRM and analytics tools to translate activity data into actionable territory insights.

  • Track record of effective cross-functional collaboration with medical, market access and marketing teams.

  • Advanced communication, negotiation and account management skills that build long-term customer partnerships.

  • Resilient, self-driven and organized, with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
