The AstraZeneca Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets and capsules for over 60+ markets. The Mt Vernon site is complex, the largest AZ production site in the US with over 700+ employees. As a Senior Maintenance Mechanic, you'll be at the heart of our operations, making a significant contribution to life-changing medicines.
Shift: 3rds. 4x10hrs (Mon - Fri 8:30pm to 7am)
Accountabilities:
In this role, you'll perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment, use analytical troubleshooting skills to identify and solve equipment problems, and work with a diverse team to improve equipment and production efficiencies. You'll also provide training to other mechanics and operators, document your work in compliance with SOP’s, SHE standards, and GMPs, and respond to multiple equipment/production problems as needed. Your ability to adapt and flex will be key as you navigate the challenges of this role.
In addition, you will also be responsible for:
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and calibration of control loops (i.e. 4-20mA, RTDs, flowmeters, pressure transmitters)
- Calibration management systems and/or processes (Maximo, CMX, ProCal, Blue Mountain)
- Utility maintenance experience (air-handlers, water generation and distribution, air compressors)
- Experience in computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo, SAP PM)
- Experience working in a regulated environment/company/industry
Essential Skills/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years experience in a pharmaceutical production environment or 8+ years as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial production environment
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- AAS in an Engineering Technology
- Understanding and operational familiarity with PC/PLC control systems
- Pharmaceutical/cGMP maintenance training and experience
- Facilities and utilities equipment maintenance experience including HVAC, boilers, air compressors, purified water, and electrical distribution systems
- Material Handling equipment maintenance experience including automated cranes, conveyers, sorting systems, and forklifts
