Location:Mississauga, Canada(ave.60% /3 days on site)

TheManager /Senior Manager,Global Corporate Affairs,will play a pivotal role in advancing our company’sstakeholder relationsand engagement on key policy and business priorities, includingby supportinghigh-profileexternal and internal engagements. In partnership with theDirector, Global Corporate Affairs and Chair’s Office andGlobal Partnerships & Stakeholder Relationsteam, this role will support best-in-classpreparation,delivery ofand engagement atpriorityplatformsandstakeholderdialogues.

The role willbe part of theSustainability Corporate Affairs, GlobalPartnerships& Chair’s Officeteam, which isaccountable for our group-level external and internal communications, policy and public affairs on the sustainability agenda, as well as the delivery of global platforms including the World Economic Forum (WEF),World Health AssemblyandUN General Assembly. The team also leads the Company’s presence in industry groups such as the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) Health Systems Task Force and European Roundtable of Industry(ERT),as well as multi-stakeholderengagements and partnerships.

Thisrole willplay a key role inpreparing forthe World Economic Forum (WEF)Davos Annual Meeting,otherpriorityplatformsandChair andSenior Executive Team (SET)engagements.The role will supportwithbriefings andengagement on topics includinghealthsystemsresilience,sustainablefinancing forhealth, lifesciencescompetitiveness,digital and AI,andEuropean policy,among other keypolicy and businesspriorities.

In partnership with the Director, Global Corporate Affairs & Chair Office, this role will also supporttheeffectiveresearch and preparation ahead ofexternal and internal engagements bytheChair andoccasionally otherDirectors senior leaders,includingwith government officials, thought leaders and employees.This includespreparation forChair-levelengagementsincluding theEuropean Round Table of Industry (ERT)andrelevantpolicy committees,theSEBNordic Conference,and otherexternalplatforms, as well asAstraZenecasite visitsin key markets.The role will also support on Chair communications,supporting theHead of Internal and Digital Communications, includingthroughdrafting remarks, internalpresentationsand digital communications.The position will supporttracking,monitoringand evaluatingof theseengagementsand their impact in advancingcorporatepriorities, andwill ensure thesharing of best practicesandlearnings to drive internalcapabilities. The position willleverageAI to enhance delivery of priorities and strategic impact.

To be successful in this role, youwillhave strong writing skills anddevelop strong, trusted partnerships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external. You havea growingknowledge in the field of healthcare, a keen interest in current affairs, politicsand policy,and an ability to upskill quickly on new areas.Expertisein EUand Europeanpolicyand policymaking, including aroundtopics such as the intersection of health withR&D, innovation and economic competitiveness,isaclear plus.You are also passionate about collaborating with, supportingand upskillingdiverse teams and colleagues around the world to maximise the strategic value and impact of partnerships, high-levelmeetingsand stakeholder engagements.You are as passionate as we are about our work, have an entrepreneurial mindset and anability to solve problemsin an agile, inclusive way.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for best-in-class delivery ofChairand senior-levelengagements(e.g. engagements aroundBoard of Director meetings and AstraZeneca site visits, European Round Table of Industry, SEB Nordic Conference, Investor AB Chairs Circle, etc.), working closely with the Director, Global Corporate Affairs & Chair Officeand theHead of Internal and Digital Communications.The majority ofthis work willentail supporting thepreparation of briefing materialsand communications, internal coordination across global, regional and market teams, andensuringtimelyfollow-ups after Chair engagementsincluding with governments and senior stakeholders.The role will alsosupport, ataminimum, biannual Chair engagement strategy deep-dive sessions that include both past and forward looks.

  • Supportthe Chair’sSteering Committeeresponsibilities in theEuropean Round Table of Industry,includingpreparing briefings for ERT plenaries, Steering Committee meetings,and high-levelgovernment engagements.In May 2026, theChair will assume the role of co-chair of the R&D and Innovation and Skills Committee on the ERT and, along with his counterpart, willbe responsible forsetting the directionof the committee’s policy development and advocacy.The role will support thispolicywork, as well ascoordinatingAstraZeneca’spolicy inputon other relevant committees(e.g.,Single Market, Trade and Economic Security, Energy and Climate).

  • Contribute tobest-in-class delivery of key global platformsandsenior executiveengagements(may includeWorld Economic Forum, World Health Assembly, UN General Assembly,regional and major market platforms) to strengthen key stakeholder relationships, advance our enterprise prioritiesincluding sustainable healthcare delivery,and drive a leading corporate reputation.This includes supporting the preparation of seniorleader briefings ondiversetopics, both in written and verbal form, including talking points and the preparation of impactfulPowerpointpresentations,leveragingon-brand materials and content.

  • Deliverfirst-class communications for core programmesincluding internal and external communications andinliaison withdigital, corporate comms,eventsandmediateamsas relevant.

  • Provide strategic insights and guidancetotheGlobal Corporate Affairs functionas well as regions and key markets,particularly for Chair engagements,incl.on key metrics and measurement to ensuredelivery of goalsand enable the continuous improvement and professionalisation of global platforms and partnerships.

  • Cultivate andmaintainrelationshipswithinternal stakeholders to deliver an effective Chair engagement programme as well askey partners, advocates and influencers to protect, nurture and build the corporate reputation of the business.

  • Manage external agency relationshipsandbudgetsas necessary.

Education, Qualifications,Skillsand Experience

Essential:

  • Healthcare experience

  • EU and/or European policy and policymaking experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proventrack recordin engaging with senior leaders and peers.

  • Excellent writing skills and experience communicating complex strategic issues, translating them into concise messaging,briefingsand slide decks

  • Experience working in corporate affairs, governmentaffairsor policy, withdemonstratedresults within a leading company,agencyor government.

  • Strong programme management skills for multi-stakeholder, complex programmes. 

  • Strategic thinker and ability tocomprehendcomplex matters and chart a clear path forward, with both hybrid and in-person meetings,engagementsand platforms 

  • Ability to work under pressure, deliver in an agile wayand prioritisemultiple competing demands 

  • Eagerness and ability to collaborate with and mobilise differentteams within the company

  • Genuine interest in and passion for healthcare,innovationandlife sciences competitiveness

  • Discretionin handling confidential informationand engaging with senior stakeholders 

  • ProficiencyinleveragingAI tools for writing,powerpoint, organisational planning

Desirable:

  • Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Frenchand German.

  • Strongexistingnetworks across policy,governmentand global platforms 

  • Experience working in a global organisation

  • Strong academictrack record

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 125,822.40 to 165,141.90.

The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.  In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.

In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).  Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days. Fixed Term Contract/Temporary positions (excluding students) are offered a Contract Benefits Program.
