AstraZeneca is creating a new field team to serve patients who are at risk of cardiovascular disease.  You will play a meaningful role in transforming how resistant Hypertension is handled in Canada.  Our bold ambition is to be a leader in CVRM by defining new standards of care.

Reporting to the Commercial CVRM Director, as the CVRM National Sales Manager you will play a pivotal role in building and accelerating the AstraZeneca CVRM franchise in Canada.  This role uniquely combines front‑line team leadership with field‑driven strategic influence, ensuring customer insights directly shape plans and compliant execution across functions. We require a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader who can drive national sales objectives and shape and implement key initiatives and projects across a broad range of specialty & primary care customers.  

You will build strategic, long-term partnerships with key hypertension influencers and decision-makers, while providing strong people leadership through effective goal setting, coaching, and empowerment. You will work collaboratively with internal and external customers to deliver innovative solutions that improve outcomes for patients at risk for cardiovascular disease.

You should be comfortable with ambiguity and able to make sound business decisions based on data and input from various sources. You will create a culture that fosters continuous growth and provides consistent recognition while challenging yourself and your team to explore new directions to deliver exceptional performance.

In this position, you will

  • Build a high performing team through effective Leadership, empowerment, coaching, and developing a team of 6 Specialty Care Sales Representatives to exceed sales performance expectations while operating within assigned budgets.
  • Partner cross‑functionally (e.g., Medical, Market Access, Sales Ops, and Marketing within compliant boundaries) to translate field insights into brand and territory plans, and to implement compliant commercial initiatives that drive customer impact and sales performance.
  • Create a high-performance culture and positive team environment that empowers behaviors like innovation, knowledge sharing, trying new things, and risk-taking.
  • Own the development of forward-thinking business plans that seek opportunities and threats to the local business and reflects a sophisticated understanding of the external landscape.
  • Review monthly performance to assess business progress versus expectations, seeking new insights to identify opportunities, course correct if needed, and improve business outcomes.
  • Build strategic relationships with Healthcare Providers (HCPs), identifying innovative solutions to advance cardiovascular care and patient outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with Medical Affairs and the Marketing team to jointly create solutions for key customers and address market needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all external regulations and internal policies, including adverse event reporting in accordance with AstraZeneca procedures.

Your Education, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8+ years of commercial pharmaceutical experience.
  • Experience in sales, sales training, marketing, or sales management, with sales management experience.
  • Demonstrated success in people leadership, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
  • Solid understanding of a manager’s roles and responsibilities and their impact on Specialty Care Sales Representative capabilities across a broad spectrum including therapeutic knowledge, territory management, selling and planning skills, product promotion, customer advocacy, and the patient journey.
  • Proven track record of analyzing customer insights and executing strategies to deliver on sales goals.
  • Strong oral and written communication and active listening skills, specifically the ability to present and communicate effectively amongst diverse groups as well as one-on-one sessions.
  • Must be a self-starter, results-oriented, and a standout colleague with superior people and motivational skills.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills with demonstrated agility.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in diverse, cross-functional environments and enhances team cohesion and agility.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel (including overnight stays up to 20% of the time).
  • Fluency in oral and written English. Fluency in French would be an asset.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 147,192.80 to 193,190.55.

AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.  In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.

In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).  Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days. Fixed Term Contract/Temporary positions (excluding students) are offered a Contract Benefits Program.
