The Commercial Operations Associate supports the execution of critical commercial processes that enable field sales and medical teams to operate effectively, compliantly, and efficiently. This role sits within the Commercial Operations team, partnering cross‑functionally with Sales, Medical, Finance, Compliance, IT, and external vendors.
This is a hands‑on operational role suited for someone who enjoys owning structured processes, working with data and systems, and supporting field‑based commercial teams in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Incentive & Commission Operations
- Serve as the business owner for sales commission operations, supporting bi‑annual incentive plan processing.
- Lead commission calculators, data verification tools, and reporting outputs to ensure accurate, timely, and audit‑ready incentive payments.
- Perform data analysis, quality checks, and reporting related to sales performance and incentives.
- Support audits and resolve data discrepancies in partnership with Sales, Finance, and IT.
Clinical Evaluation Packages (Product Samples) Operations
- Own day‑to‑day operations for Product Sampling Programs supporting field sales, including mailbox management and coordination with third‑party vendors.
- Lead allocation and distribution processes, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and spend visibility.
- Prepare ad‑hoc and routine operational reports and support compliance monitoring aligned with internal policies.
External Funding & Sponsorship Administration
- Support external funding and field sponsorship requests through internal systems (e.g., CyberGrants).
- Process submissions, track budgets, and ensure requests align with approval requirements.
- Serve as an operational point of contact for field teams submitting funding requests.
Field Team Operational Support & Training
- Lead required operational and compliance training assignments for field sales teams, including onboarding support.
- Provide broader Commercial Operations support across initiatives such as event management, employee onboarding, and operational process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1–3+ years of experience in commercial operations, sales operations, incentives, reporting, or a similar operational role
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas)
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and attention‑to‑detail skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines
- Clear and professional communication skills
Preferred
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry
- Familiarity with sales incentive plans, commission calculations, or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Veeva)
- Experience working in regulated or compliance‑driven environments

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 70,488.00 to 92,515.50.AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs. In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.
In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role). Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days. Fixed Term Contract/Temporary positions (excluding students) are offered a Contract Benefits Program.
