The Commercial Data Strategy and Asset Management Lead is a key figure in steering our organization's data-driven decision-making. This leadership role is crucial in crafting and driving data strategies that align with our commercial goals and market trends. The individual will ensure that data initiatives bolster business growth, enhance customer insights, and boost operational efficiencies. By leading data innovation and cultivating a data-centric culture, the lead will integrate advanced analytics and technology into our commercial operations. They will uphold data governance and quality, ensuring the integrity and compliance of our data resources. Additionally, the lead will manage external partnerships to leverage insights and tools that amplify the value of our data, exploring new sources and methods for competitive advantage.

Accountabilities:

  • Data Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive data strategies aligning with commercial and business objectives. Identify opportunities for demonstrating data to drive business growth and operational efficiency.

  • Asset Management: Lead all aspects of the management of commercial data assets, ensuring they are accessible, reliable, and secure. Work with partners to ensure data assets meet the needs of the organization.

  • Vendor Management: Handle relationships with external vendors and data service providers to ensure optimal delivery and support. Evaluate and select vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to ensure alignment with strategic goals.

  • Data Quality and Governance: Establish and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure high data quality and compliance across all commercial operations. Monitor data usage and quality metrics, implementing improvements as necessary.

  • Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Insights and Sales Operations, marketing, and sales, to integrate data strategies across the organization. Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.

  • Analytical Insights and Reporting: Deliver data-driven insights and reports to senior leadership, guiding strategic decisions. Utilize advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to uncover insights and trends.

  • Technology and Innovation: Stay abreast of developments in data analytics and technology, recommending new tools and methodologies as appropriate. Drive innovation by exploring new data sources and analytical techniques.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Computer or Information/Data Sciences, science, technology, engineering, mathematics) required. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data strategy, asset management, or a related role within a commercial or business environment.

  • Experience in vendor management and strategic partnerships.

  • Consistent track record in leading data-driven projects and strategy development.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive insights from complex datasets.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and practices.

  • Proficiency in data management and analytical tools such as SQL, Python, or Tableau.

  • Knowledge of Veeva CRM data model in pharmaceutical settings, Patient Hub Data, Syndicated Claims data (IQVIA LAAD, Symphony, Specialty Pharmacy/Specialty Distribution) model highly preferred.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

  • Experience working in the pharma or biotech sectors, preferably within or with the Commercial team.

  • Knowledge of Syndicated Claims data, Lab data (IQVIA LAAD, Symphony, Specialty Pharmacy/Specialty Distribution).
