What you’ll do

We have a full-time, permanent opportunity for an IT Technical Support Specialist to join our Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-user experience and the effective delivery of IT services through AstraZeneca’s ‘AskIT’ service—an enhanced, walk-up IT support hub at key sites.

You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring seamless IT operations, troubleshooting technical issues, and delivering a high-quality customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the face of IT at AstraZeneca, providing exceptional front-line IT support.

  • Deliver outstanding customer service through the AskIT desk, assisting users with troubleshooting, training, and device support.

  • Resolve or triage technical queries, ensuring swift resolution while maintaining customer satisfaction.

  • Manage incident and demand requests, escalating where necessary to ensure timely resolution.

  • Maintain IT asset inventory, tracking loaned devices and managing equipment returns.

  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes for IT equipment, ensuring a smooth transition for employees.

  • Work collaboratively with other IT teams to resolve escalated issues and maintain system integrity.

  • Maintain compliance with IT security protocols and best practices, ensuring adherence to company policies.

  • Participate in a 24/7 shift rotation to support night shift operations where required.

Essential for the role:

  • Degree in IT or equivalent professional experience.

  • Knowledge of GxP / validated systems and IT support within a pharmaceutical or FMCG environment.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.

  • Hands-on experience supporting Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, and Lenovo hardware.

  • Proficiency in Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and Entra (Azure AD) for user and device management.

  • Experience in IT asset management, including tracking and maintaining inventory.

  • Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.

  • Ability to resolve hardware and software issues efficiently while maintaining a customer-first mindset.

  • Understanding of basic networking principles such as VLANs, DHCP, and DNS.

  • Ability to lift and install IT equipment (15kg+).

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting Apple Mac OS/iOS.

  • Familiarity with cloud storage solutions such as OneDrive and Box.

  • Prior experience in an IT Tech Bar or IT training role.
