About AstraZeneca

AstraZeneca is a global, science-led biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialisation of prescription medicines, primarily for the treatment of diseases in four therapy areas – Oncology; Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM); Respiratory & Immunology (R&I); and Rare Disease.

At AstraZeneca Australia, we have been working to deliver the best value to patients for more than 60 years, and we push the boundaries of science to deliver life-changing medicines.

We’re bringing transformative drugs to those that need them the most by combining continuous new launches with unique solutions across the whole patient journey. It’s how we are able to truly make a difference to the quality of lives and answer huge unmet patient needs.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the National Sales Manager (NSM), in this Sydney-based role you will support the evolving Haematology franchise strategy, aligning with customer and patient needs. You’ll have the autonomy to craft and own Account plans alongside the internal Cross Functional Team (CFT), aiming to surpass customer expectations and achieve remarkable commercial outcomes.
Step into a high-performing territory (NSW South, ACT, occasional regional travel) with a clear growth trajectory, and be part of a cohesive and supportive national team.

As a Haematology Business Manager, you will:

  • Own strategic hospital accounts for your territory, working with the NSM and CFT to develop and execute account plans aligned to brand strategy and regulatory frameworks, to meet commercial targets.
  • Engage senior healthcare stakeholders and haematology healthcare professionals to forge strategic partnerships with tailored, evidence based value propositions, supporting appropriate, on label use through science based discussions.
  • Coordinate cross functional activities with medical, MSLs and marketing to address local needs, including planning and hosting education initiatives in line with account plans.
  • Use data and insights to refine strategies, manage budgets and performance, and share account intelligence to strengthen execution across the team.
  • Uphold compliance and ethical standards in all engagements, responsibly navigating formulary/protocol processes and access pathways.

Essential for the role

  • Demonstrated ability to build long lasting relationships with both internal and external customers in complex clinical environments.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with demonstrated project/team/cross-functional leadership.
  • The ability to think strategically and be entrepreneurial, with strong commercial acumen.
  • Strong leadership attributes aligned to AstraZeneca values, including decision making, flexibility and problem-solving.

Desirable for the role

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a haematology-oncology or similar hospital pharmaceutical sales role.
  • Established relationships and networks within the malignant haematology area.
  • Knowledge of Haematology customer segments and market dynamics.
  • A proven track record of successfully managing key accounts including tendering experience and sound knowledge of protocol.
