What you’ll do

We are currently looking for a Commercial Associate to be the interface between AstraZeneca and wholesalers, state health departments and private health groups. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure our medicines are available across Australia and New Zealand. You will manage product updates with wholesalers and partners, including launches, discontinuations, stock, sales and pricing. You will also manage hospital tenders and contracts, looking at ways to drive value for our portfolio. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Liaise with various teams, including Marketing, Finance, Global Supply, Pricing and Regulatory to coordinate activities regarding product launches, pricing, discontinuations and other changes with wholesalers and State/Private Hospital Procurement groups. 

  • Monitor sales and stock levels internally and at wholesaler warehouses, responding to variances and anomalies to maintain sufficient supply around Australia and New Zealand.

  • Coordinate tender submissions and ongoing contract administration for State/Private Hospital groups. Collaborate with Legal on contract negotiations. 

  • Manage relationships with Wholesalers and Hospital Procurement functions, attending customer-supplier meetings and producing periodic sales/KPI reports.

  • Coordinate analysis and submission of Price Disclosure information to the pricing authorities (PBAC).

  • Generate regular and ad-hoc sales and stock reports using tools such as SAP, Excel and Power BI for stakeholders around the business. 

  • Liaise with the regional Finance team on customer account maintenance, pricing administration and billing reconciliation.

  • Independently manage and direct own workflow in line with business priorities.

  • Manage strategic projects under general guidance, ensuring delivery of project outputs as per plan, reviewing and refining plans as necessary.

Essential for the role

  • Experience working in a similar role, supporting multiple stakeholders both internally and externally

  • Knowledge in relation to pricing, tender process activities in the pharmaceutical/medical devices industry

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field

  • Project management skills

  • Desire and proactive approach to learning

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional customer service skills and a team player

  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail

  • Advanced use of Excel 


Desirable for the role

  • Experience with SAP would be an advantage
